Airing 2004 until 2012, House followed the titular doctor, who specialized in diagnostic medicine. He often broke the rules, and at times was more of a pain than he was worth, but he always managed to find a solution to the problem. The cast worked well together, and managed to create a show that fans loved for several years.

Episode 6: The Socratic Method (8.5)

This was a unique episode where a mother appeared to be suffering from mental illness, and her teenage son had taken on the role of caretaker in her life. People loved this episode because House seemed to take a personal attachment to the boy, which is unlike anything else we had seen up to this point.

House even took the blame when his mother called CPS to come and take him away to a better place. The immense drama and emotion in this episode is what earned it 8.5 stars on IMDb, and made it one of our favorites to watch.

Episode 10: Histories (8.5)

Here we watched as the doctors took their own standings on whether a homeless woman was faking her illnesses. Foreman, in particular, didn't believe this woman was there for anything besides drugs and a nice place to sleep for the night. They ended up digging into her past, and soon discovered that the woman had rabies, but their diagnosis came too late.

The episode showed the importance of gathering history on a patient as it led to their eventual diagnosis. It received a rating of 8.5 from IMDb, and it fully earned it for the excellence in which it portrayed this touchy subject.

Episode 17: Role Model (8.6)

When politics enter the medical field it never ends well, and this episode featuring a senator was no different. The unusual part was that House generally believes that every patient is lying, but for some reason, he decided to trust the politician.

We also saw a powerful man named Vogler force House into giving a speech in order to save his job and those around him, and he did, although it wasn't the one that Vogler wanted. There was so much involved in this episode, which is why it was given a rating of 8.6 due to fans on the edge of their seats, waiting for the outcome.

Episode 1: Pilot (8.6)

The pilot episode can often make or break a show, but House's managed to exceed all expectations. We see a young teacher slowly deteriorate as her body begins to shut down with each hour a cure isn't found.

It perfectly introduces us to the team and their working relationship, as well as the morals that Dr. House employs while he practices medicine. The episode was given a rating of 8.6 on IMDb, and it was the catalyst that kept fans coming back for more.

Episode 14: Control (8.7)

We were first introduced to Vogler in this episode as he donated $100 million to the hospital and became the head of the hospital board. We watch as Dr. House ends up with a wealthy executive female patient, and ends up bending the rules to put her on a transplant list to save her life.

House even clashes with Vogler for the first time as his department becomes the target area to be terminated. "Control" was given a rating of 8.7 as fans were drawn into the drama, clamoring to see what would happen next.

Episode 22: Honeymoon (8.7)

This was a tricky episode where Dr. House has several challenges put in his way as he makes the decision to treat his ex-girlfriend's husband. His morals sway as he questions whether or not he would want the man to live but eventually gives in to her demands.

The acting in this episode is exceptional as fans were brought to tears because of the heartbreak. It was given a rating of 8.7, and some may argue it deserved higher because of the exceptional way in which it was made.

Episode 9: DNR (8.8)

This episode reveals how a second opinion might be in some patients' best interest as this jazz musician had his ALS diagnosis reversed. Dr. House was convinced that it had to be something else, and he even ignored the patient-signed DNR in order to prove his point.

We also saw as Dr. Foreman struggled to decide whether he wanted to take the benefits offered by his former mentor, or if he would stay under the direction of Dr. House. IMDb gave "DNR" a rating of 8.8, and it was well-deserved for the journey this episode took us on.

Episode 11: Detox (8.8)

This was another great episode that ended with Dr. House performing an autopsy on a deceased cat. The team was stumped as to the numerous ailments a teenage boy was showing, and struggled to find a plausible solution.

"Detox" also unveiled Dr. House's true addiction to Vicodin as he made a wager that had him ditching the bottle for a week. Dr. House struggled without this addictive drug, but it earned the episode a rating of 8.8 for this reason.

Episode 18: Babies And Bathwater (8.9)

This was another episode where we watch as the tension grows between Dr. House and Vogler as he works to have him fired from his job. Vogler went so far as to have other hospital members dismissed who defied his wants in order to gain the votes he needed.

We also watched in agony as a young woman died in order to save her unborn child as a new father was left without his wife by the end of the episode. "Babies and Bathwater" was given a rating of 8.9 as emotions ran high between the various storylines that played out.

Episode 21: Three Stories (9.6)

We meet Dr. House's ex-girlfriend in this episode as she begs him to diagnose her current husband. Dr. House is also put in charge of teaching a diagnostic class, and reveals some personal sides to himself through three different leg pain stories.

It's an intelligent episode in which we try to fit ourselves in the young doctors' shoes to piece together this mysterious puzzle. "Three Stories" was given a 9.6 rating from IMDb for this reason, and it really set the bar for the show as it continued into further seasons.
