A new trailer for the upcoming Hot Wheels Unleashed shows off an impressive array of collectible toy cars, including some iconic rides from movies and television. This fun new racing game was announced in February courtesy of RIDE creator Milestone, with a release date planned for this September.

As to be expected for a game based around Mattel’s popular Hot Wheels brand, Hot Wheels Unleashed promises much high-speed action with drifting, boosting, and plenty of shortcuts as players race their tiny diecast car across the iconic orange Hot Wheels track amid varied in-game environments like a vertical Skyscraper course. There will also be boss fights in Hot Wheels Unleashed, and players will be able to customize their own cars to go head-to-head with their friends in online and split-screen couch co-op.

Earlier today, Milestone Team posted the latest Hot Wheels Unleashed trailer to YouTube, as well as a press release detailing the 66 previously promised cars that players will be able to race at launch. These include vehicles from noted real-world car manufacturers like Audi, Ford, and Chevy, as well as famous rides from television and cinema like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Wagon, Knight Rider’s K.I.T.T., the time-traveling DeLorean from Back To The Future, and Batman’s ever-iconic Batmobile. These can all be seen in the Hot Wheels Unleashed Diecast Trailer below:

Hot Wheels Unleashed is far from the long-running toy brand’s first collaboration with video games, either as in-game content or physical products based on vehicles from racing titles or other genres. World Of Tanks launched a DLC season centered around Hot Wheels last fall, Mattel has released a toy track based on the Rainbow Road course from Mario Kart, and there are some Forza Horizon-based Hot Wheels cars currently set for release sometime later this year. Of course, that isn’t getting into all of the previous Hot Wheels games that have come out over the years, with some being better received than others.

It will still be some time before fans see how Hot Wheels Unleashed fares, but it seems to offer up plenty of variety in its selection of playable cars, be they real-life racing models or famous fictional vehicles like K.I.T.T. and the Batmobile. This, added with the game's reported customization options, means that players will a lot of stylish rides to choose from when Hot Wheels Unleashed bursts from the starting line.
