The current roadmap of upcoming DLC for Hot Wheels Unleashed has just been revealed, promising crossovers with several big-name car manufactures and licensed properties. Announced way back in February, this newest Hot Wheels game will have players race the popular toy cars across all major platforms courtesy of RIDE developer Milestone this September.

In addition to over 66 available vehicles (and the option for players to build their own with customization options), Hot Wheels Unleashed will offer up a variety of different courses for racers to drive along, all featuring the iconic orange Hot Wheels track and sporting plenty of shortcuts. There will also be boss battles in Hot Wheels Unleashed, and players will be able to compete against their friends in split-screen couch play and online multiplayer.

Mattel and Milestone have already teased that famous vehicles like the Batmobile and Knight Rider’s K.I.T.T will be playable in Hot Wheels Unleashed, but now HotWheelsUnleashed.com has revealed the full range of crossovers headed to the game post-release. The roadmap for Hot Wheels Unleased’s planned DLC will consist of branded vehicles from real-life car companies like Aston Martian, Corvette, and BMW, along with fictional offerings patterned after Batman, Street Fighter, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and more. All of this will be made available over the course of three DLC passes, which will each include several cars, a level expansion, three themed car Customization Packs, and three Track Builder modules. Additionally, the site promises even more DLC announcements in the future.

Hot Wheels Unleashed DLC Roadmap

All of the franchises listed in Hot Wheels Unleashed’s DLC plans have been licensed by Mattel for toy cars in the past, so it makes sense for them to be included in the latest Hot Wheels game. The Hot Wheels brand is no stranger to video games either, as there have been several other Hot Wheels titles across numerous console generations over the years. Additionally, Nintendo recently partnered up with Mattel for a toy track based on Mario Kart’s infamous Rainbow Road and World Of Tanks launched a Hot Wheels-themed DLC season last year.

Hot Wheels Unleased already promises to feature plenty of variety for Hot Wheels fans right out of the starting gate, and that will only grow once Milestone’s planned DLC passes start rolling out. So far there’s no official date for any of the planned Hot Wheels Unleashed content – including the crossovers with the likes of Batman and BMW – but that will likely change as the game’s September 27 release date races ever closer.
