Nine secrets must all be unlocked in Hot Wheels Unleashed to progress through the single-player campaign mode. Completing every secret allows you to not only earn a special reward, but also make it to the very end of the game. Some hidden goals are tied to specific races, while others are found by following different events in the story.
Finishing the entire catalog of objectives from the campaign will unlock a secret car in Hot Wheels Unleashed, the Oldsmobile 442. This vehicle has some of the best stats in the game, with four bars of braking power, five bars of acceleration, and maxed-out speed. Additional scores of three bars of handling and four bars of boost make the Oldsmobile 442 versatile in nearly every category.

Several secrets in Hot Wheels Unleashed have prerequisites that must be met before you can complete them. Most of the time, you have to win races unlocked through the story one after the other to progress forward in the campaign. Complete "The Best" in City Rumble with Buns of Steel. |
When Secret Unveiled is completed, you unlock a path to the west in City Rumble. This allows you to unlock the Buns of Steel car by claiming the rewards at the end of a street in this area. |

This secret can only be unlocked after completing the race that's unlocked from the Top Secret goal. |
