Last year's Suicide Squad  was a box office success, but like many DC Extended Universe films it, was met with a mixed reception from fans and critics. Suicide Squad isn't as well known of a comic book team to casual viewers, so in order to draw a general audience, The Joker and Batman were given roles in the film.

Ben Affleck's cameo role as Batman certainly lent some legitimacy to the Suicide Squad's tale, managing to connect it to Batman v Superman and the upcoming Justice League. Despite his minimal appearance, a beautifully detailed figure dedicated to Batman's appearance in Suicide Squad is on the way from Hot Toys, an international producer of high-quality action figures. The collectible 1/6th scale premium figure by Hot Toys will include a variety of details that are specific to his appearance in Suicide Squad. Hot Toys has already unveiled high-quality figures from the film, like Deadshot, three versions of The Joker and two versions of Harley Quinn.

The premium format figure will include 30 points of articulation, a specially wired cape that can be posed, a Suicide Squad movie-themed stand that you can use to recreate that cool 'flying' scene, three interchangeable eye pieces and lower faces, eight different hand options, and a meticulously hand-painted head sculpt.

Suicide Squad Batman Figure Hot Toys

Batman made appearances in three different scenes in the movie and his presence is certainly felt throughout. Suicide Squad doesn't make a quick nod to the existence of heroes like Batman - it exists in a world that is immersed in them. He appears to bring Deadshot to prison, chase The Joker and Harley Quinn, and finally end the film with a powerful confrontation with Amanda Waller. He may not be the main character, but he makes a large impact on the film. It is a bit surprising to get an all new figure since the costume is pretty much identical to the version that was worn in Batman v Superman. The figure does have differences, mostly in the poses available.

This reveal is a nice treat in advance of the New York Toy Fair. Hot Toys will likely be there with their offerings for the year and will perhaps have this figure there in person to see. The exact release date and price haven't yet been released, although Hot Toys does say to expect this one sometime in the last half of 2017. The majority of Hot Toys can be purchased for $200-$300. More pictures of the Suicide Squad Batman figure are available at the Hot Toys official site.
