Today, we have three new posters for two new horror movies coming out this year and next. One of them features a very creative and unique villain, and the other, a very creative and unique weapon.
I’m sure most of you have heard the classic nursery rhyme about Humpty Dumpty, the poor dude who fell to his messy, yolky death. While the rhyme does not specifically declare that Humpty Dumpty is an egg, the story works much better for kids and the picture books with that assumption.
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall;
All the King’s horses and all the King’s men,
Couldn’t put Humpty together again.
It also seems to work much better for David Ellis (Snakes on a Place) who’s making a 3-D horror movie called Humpty Dumpty which features an egg-like alien-human hybrid monster as its villain – Definitely not for the kids. Here is the gruesome and insanely weird plot synopsis:
When an alien mother is sexually abused by two rednecks in the deep south, she gives birth to a half-human, half-alien creature that eventually goes on a murderous rampage.
That’s a bit disturbing, I know – So are the creepy posters. Check out what the modern-age Humpty Dumpty looks like with these two new posters:
Well, at least his victims should know that Humpty’s weakness is heights. All they need to do is trick him up high and make him fall; he’ll egg-splode on impact… Get it?
Next up, a more traditional horror thriller, Sorority Row. This movie seems to be a clone of I Know What You Did Last Summer but with an all-female cast:
When five sorority girls inadvertently cause the murder of one of their sisters in a prank gone wrong, they agree to keep the matter to themselves and never speak of it again, so they can get on with their lives. This proves easier said than done, when after graduation a mysterious killer goes after the five of them and anyone who knows their secret…
And here is the poster:
What is that weapon she’s holding? It looks like a tire iron with a knife and a harpoon head attached.
What do you think of the posters and the movies?
Sorority Row opens October 2, 2009 and Humpty Dumpty is planned to debut some time next year.
