There are a total of nine legendary weapons that can be unlocked or purchased in Horizon Forbidden West. Each legendary weapon has a few perks that are active as soon as it's obtained, but some of the more useful perks need to be unlocked. The locked perks require Weapon Upgrades to unlock and use, and players can also increase the percentage of a weapon's perks through upgrades.

Although some of the legendary weapons can take a while to obtain, they are extremely useful for completing more difficult tasks, like defeating bosses in Horizon Forbidden West. Some of the legendary weapons can be purchased, but most of them need to be unlocked by completing side quests or gathering collectibles, such as the Ornaments found in Horizon Forbidden West's Relic Ruins. Obtaining all nine legendary weapons can be a very time-consuming task.
