As previously promised, pre-orders for Horizon Forbidden West have officially gone live today, September 2; plus, fans now know what to expect from the sequel's Collector's, Digital Deluxe, Regalia, and Special Editions. Unveiled during Sony's PlayStation 5 reveal event, Horizon Forbidden West takes place following the events of the original 2017 title.

Developer Guerrilla Games initially targeted a late 2021 due date for the project, promising a cross-gen experience that would still take advantage of the PS5's various bells and whistles. However, after much deliberation and speculation, the company elected to push Horizon Forbidden West to February 2022, meaning Aloy's next adventure will hit stores during its fifth-year anniversary month. While confirming the revised launch date, Guerrilla told fans that pre-orders would go live on September 2, alongside other specifics about the eagerly-awaited release. Fortunately, said details have now emerged.

Fans can now pre-order Horizon Forbidden West and its various Collector's Editions, the latter of which Guerrilla unveiled on the PlayStation Blog. The Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99) for PS4/PS5 packs in two special outfits, two special weapons, in-game Apex Clawstrider Machine Strike Piece, in-game Resources Pack, exclusive Photo Mode pose and face paint, Digital Art Book, Digital OST, and Digital Version of Zero Dawn's first graphic novel - The Sunhawk.

The Collector's Edition ($199.99) features a digital PS4/PS5 copy of the sequel, SteelBook case, custom Tremortusk and Aloy statues, and all of the digital goodies spread across the other two editions.

Finally, the Regalia Edition ($249.99) includes all of the above, along with two Art Print Cards, Replica Focus and stand, Replica Sunwing and Clawstrider Machine Physical Strike Pieces, and a Canvas Map.

Luckily, the Collector's Edition comes with a digital code for PS4/PS5, allowing PS5 Digital owners to take advantage of all the other physical items packaged in. And the Tremortusk & Aloy statues certainly seem like the perfect additions to any fan's collection, though specifics regarding size and build quality remain under wraps.

Horizon Forbidden West's release date announcement last week came with another surprise, Horizon Zero Dawn's long-awaited 60 fps update on PS5. All who have access to the title on Sony's newer console, can experience the award-winning open-world adventure at a smooth 60 frames per second thanks to the update in question. And who knows, maybe Sony and Guerrilla will unveil even more Horizon-centric details during PlayStation's September 9 showcase?
