There are three Hunting Grounds Trials to complete in Plainsong in Horizon Forbidden West, and each one requires Aloy to be stealthy. The Hunting Grounds can be found north of the Plainsong Settlement and will be the second set of trials that players can find in Horizon Forbidden West. The challenges in the Plainsong Hunting Grounds are straightforward, but players will need to be careful not to alert machines in the area while completing them.

Hunting Grounds Trials are one of the various side activities that players can complete in Horizon Forbidden West. There are a few different rewards to earn while completing the 12 trials, including a Legendary Tripcaster, Tinker's Pride. However, this legendary weapon in Horizon Forbidden West won't unlock until players earn Full Stripes for every Hunting Grounds Trial. While finishing the trials, players will also earn Hunting Medals, skill points, Metal Shards, and crafting resources.

Unlike the other Hunting Grounds Trials in Horizon Forbidden West, the Plainsong Trials are focused on stealth, so there are no specific weapons or ammunition required to complete them. Instead, players will need to perform several stealth takedowns and loot boxes without being seen. Luckily, the machines roaming around the Plainsong Hunting Grounds have the same path for each trial, so once their route is learned, the challenges should be fairly easy.

Horizon Forbidden West Plainsong Hunting Grounds Trials Guide Aloy Silent Takedown

The Silent Looting Trial is the first challenge to complete in the Plainsong Hunting Grounds in Horizon Forbidden West. There are three boxes that need to be looted around the Hunting Grounds without alerting any of the nearby machines. Aloy will need to grapple between poles or move through the tall grass to get to each supply cache, and the trial will need to be completed within three minutes and 30 seconds to earn Full Stripes.

The second Plainsong Hunting Ground challenge is the Silent Strike Trial. Players will need to perform three silent takedowns on the machines patrolling the area. This challenge can be approached similarly to the first Plainsong Hunting Grounds Trial by using the pillars and grass to get around the arena. Once behind a machine, Aloy will be able to perform a silent takedown, or players can do a takedown from above using the pillars and the Shieldwing in Horizon Forbidden West. The three silent takedowns need to be performed within one minute and 30 seconds to earn Full Stripes.

The last challenge, the Silent Gliding Trial, is very similar to the previous trial. Aloy will only need to take down two machines in this challenge, but the enemies must be killed from above while gliding. To do this, players can get to the top of a pillar, jump and activate the Shieldwing, then perform the takedown once Aloy is positioned above a machine. Full Stripes will be awarded for completing the two silent gliding takedowns within one minute. Each time one of the Plainsong Hunting Grounds Trials is completed in Horizon Forbidden West, players can return to the Groundskeeper for their rewards.
