Aloy is back in Horizon Forbidden West, and with it means many ruins, including the one at The Daunt, to explore while seeking more relics from the past. In addition, the Daunt makes its return as a playable area, unlike in Horizon Zero Dawn, where The Daunt got talked about in passing. Players seeking out this ruin in Horizon Forbidden West will also gain a relic called an Ornament that players get to use later on in their journey.

Horizon Forbidden West comes a lot of new ground to cover and new items to collect. The Ornaments from the other Ruins give unique light shows depending on the ones collected. While on the subject of The Daunt, the Ornament from these Ruins looks like a pot of gold. The inventory screen has the Ornament identified as Ornament #1, "Let's Get This Started!" and is used on the Errand called Nights Of Lights. After getting the Ornaments and completing the Errand, an NPC called Stemmur would use the Ornaments Aloy gives him to treat her to a light show of the various holidays associated with the Ornaments.

The biggest part of why Aloy is on another adventure in Horizon Forbidden West is that after the events of Horizon Zero Dawn, the Blight contaminating the biosphere has worsened. Aloy has to get GAIA up and running again from a previous backup and is searching high and low for it with no success to save the world from the Blight. GAIA is the computer system that got tasked with bringing humanity back from the brink of extinction and is also responsible for the creation of Aloy.

How to Solve The Daunt Relic Ruin in Horizon Forbidden West

The journey on completing The Daunt Ruins can take some time in Horizon Forbidden West, although there's a quick path that makes it easy to reach the end. The Daunt Ruins is on the far east side of the map in the small section on the northeast side, separate from the larger map area in Forbidden West. The Ruins themselves are in the middle of the section east of two bonfires. Upon entering the ruins, on the ground floor to the north, there's a box that Aloy can pull with her Pullcaster. First, pull the box toward the middle of the Ruins allowing Aloy to jump and climb to the next level. Next, go through the ready doorway to the west, go up the small ramp and jump to the other side. Enter the opening and drop down to an area where a box and a blue piece are on the top of the southern wall that Aloy can use her Pullcaster. After pulling the two parts, use Aloy's Focus on the 'Your Red Permit Code' item on the floor on the east wall, then pull the box from the second level on the north side down. Finally, use the newly drawn box to climb up to the higher box on the southern wall and go through it to a new area.

After dropping into the chasm, follow the cavern to a breakable wall the Pullcaster can bring down, and above it will have a wall with a similar symbol for Aloy to pull and destroy as well. Jump across the hole and drop the box on the ground level into the hole. Take the box and put it to the wall, which has a climbable section, and follow it up. From the upper platform, jump to the left platform to use Hotel Room Key. Head back to the original room, go back to the second-level ledge, and use the key in the door immediately upon jumping up. The code to open the door is 1705, which opens the room and completes the Ruins Puzzle.
