A masterful Horizon Forbidden West build allows Aloy to decimate a terrifying Apex Thunderjaw using only three arrows. Guerrilla Games' recently-released sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn allows players to once again explore a post-apocalyptic America populated by animalistic machines and unique human tribes. While Horizon Forbidden West introduces new weapons, Aloy's most powerful weapon still seems to be her keen mind and trusty bow.

Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, Horizon Forbidden West sees Aloy hunt various mechanical monsters as she journeys to save the world. The sequel brings back many of the first game's iconic robots, like the flying Stormbird and fearsome Thunderjaw, while also introducing new threats like the Slitherfang and Tremortusk. To help her face these new threats, Horizon Forbidden West outfits Aloy with new tools like the Shieldwing glider and Pullcaster grappling hook. New weapons, like Spike Throwers and Shredder Gauntlets, are also introduced to complement old favorites like the Ropecaster and Hunter Bow. Players can gain an edge in combat by choosing Horizon Forbidden West weapons and ammo types appropriate for the occasion.

Displaying full mastery of Horizon Forbidden West, Reddit user Niklaus15 successfully destroyed an Apex Thunderjaw using just three arrows. The mechanical monster is a more terrifying version of the dinosaur-inspired machine introduced in Horizon Zero Dawn, sporting additional health and more powerful weaponry. While the Apex Thunderjaw is a truly intense encounter for most players, Niklaus15's stealth build puts the hunter-killer down in under 30 seconds. The build gives Aloy a Forgefall bow and Thunderwarrior Nora armor alongside numerous stealth perks and upgrades, and Niklaus15 ability to hit the tin T-rex's weak points while hidden compounds the damage dealt during the remarkably short hunt.

While Niklaus15's Apex Thunderjaw kill displays the height of Aloy's power, a Horizon Forbidden West Tallneck death shows a clumsier side of the heroic hunter. Tallnecks are massive mechanical giraffes that serve as mobile satellite dishes in Guerrilla Games' unique sci-fi series. Climbing Tallnecks to reveal new parts of the map is a major mechanic in both Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, with the machine's peaceful nature making the task a traversal puzzle rather than an actual fight. The machines are still dangerous, however, which one player discovered after they fell from a Tallneck and saw Aloy casually crushed underneath its robotic foot.

Horizon Forbidden West's machines can be a terrifying threat, but upgrading Aloy's skills and gear can make her an even more powerful force. Niklaus15's extremely efficient stealth build, and their knowledge of exactly where to shoot for maximum damage, felled an Apex Thunderjaw in under 30 seconds. While other players are unlikely to achieve such high damage, the video demonstrates the versatility of Horizon Forbidden West's role-play mechanics.
