Honkai: Star Rail has multiple characters, and many more will be added as the live-service game's gacha system is constantly updated. While a few heroes are extremely fitting for most team comps, some others simply do not rise up to the occasion. The characters that players get are mostly up to luck and money investment in the gacha system, but they can aim for the best ones when using Honkai: Star Rail’s Warps on specific banners. Here are all the game’s characters (as of the published date) and how they rank in a Honkai: Star Rail tier list:

Best Way To Build Teams In Honkai: Star Rail

A collection of Honkai: Star Rail characters, including the Trailblazer, March 7th, and Dan Heng

Despite the fact that some Honkai: Star Rail characters play out better than others, it is important to note that not all of them will be available in every player’s roster. This means that players will have to build their Star Rail team comps with the heroes that they have. When doing so, it is important to take a few details into consideration.

A good team comp in the turn-based RPG is one with both Elemental and Path variety. The combat system in Honkai: Star Rail relies heavily on breaking opponents through their Elemental Weaknesses, as well as getting through the fights.

If players have a full team The Destruction characters, for example, they will likely get wiped out quickly. If it is a party full of The Harmony heroes, on the other hand, there will be a massive lack of damage output. Having a mono-Elemental team may make sense when facing specific opponents, like a boss.

For general exploration, it is clever to have a wider range, to be prepared for various enemies and their variable weaknesses. As such, players have to analyze which Honkai: Star Rail characters they have, and how they can build a team out of those.

While the game does have Elements, it does not have Elemental Reactions, like in Genshin Impact, so players do not need to worry about how these Elements interact, because they simply do not. The focus of combat is surviving each battle and being able to dismiss enemies by taking advantage of their Elemental Weaknesses.

Ultimately, it is also important to use a team comp that makes players comfortable. If they are using a recommended team on the Honkai: Star Rail tier list that doesn’t feel good, they should consider changing – even if that means swapping an S-tier hero for a lower-ranked one.
