Using Honkai: Star Rail’s best builds for Himeko is a great way of optimizing the character’s performance and overall damage output on the battlefield. The 5-star hero of the Astral Express is one of the characters that players get to test out during their initial tutorial in Herta Space Station, but then have to part ways with. Luckily, the character is one of the possible pulls from both the Beginner Banner and the Standard Banner. On top of that, there is a 50/50 chance that she will drop from Character Event Banners as well, making her presence in team comps not only common but even somewhat encouraged.

The hero follows the Erudition Path in Honkai: Star Rail’s combat system. This means that she specializes in hitting multiple targets at once with AoE (area of effect) attacks, and her skills certainly reflect that. She is also one of the few Fire characters in the game as of Version 1.0, making her extremely valuable for facing some opponents that may be weak against the element. With the proper build for Himeko in Honkai: Star Rail, her powers can be substantially increased, to the point that her optimization makes her indispensable in most team comps – mainly by acting as a secondary DPS that supports the team with damage output.

Best Light Cone For Himeko

An image of Honkai: Star Rail's Night on the Milky Way Light Cone. It features Himeko sitting down on something while gazing at the sky, which if full of stars, while her hair moves due to the blowing wind.

Because the character follows the Erudition Path, Himeko’s build in Honkai: Star Rail will see her using Light Cones of the same category, exclusively. Light Cones are, essentially, the turn-based game’s weapons, so heroes cannot employ different types of them – as a comparison, in HoYoverse’s Genshin Impact, a polearm user cannot wield a bow, and in Honkai: Star Rail, an Erudition Path character cannot use a Destruction Path Light Cone.

The only exception to this rule is the main character known as Trailblazer, but even they have to change Paths before equipping different categories of Honkai: Star Rail’s Light Cones.

As such, Himeko’s best build in Honkai: Star Rail will require her to equip an Erudition Path Light Cone. On top of that, in order to optimize her abilities, the Light Cone should also intensify her damage output through increased ATK stats or boost the power of her follow-up Talent Attack.

One of the main features that Himeko boasts in the game is her ability to apply an AoE follow-up attack, outside her own turn, once an enemy’s Weakness is broken. This is a great way of constantly applying Fire damage to all opponents and, potentially, speeding up the Weakness Break effect against them.

Ideally, the best Light Cone for Himeko’s build in Honkai: Star Rail is the 5-star Night on the Milky Way. This is her signature weapon, and it boosts her ATK by 582 points (at level 80). What is interesting about this Light Cone, however, is its skill: the weapon boosts the user’s ATK for every enemy on the field, making it ideal for when Himeko and the team comp in Honkai: Star Rail are faced against larger groups.

Additionally, the user’s damage is also boosted whenever an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, which goes hand-in-hand with her Talent. You can check her best build in the table below:

Himeko's Best Build In Honkai: Star Rail

Light Cone

  • Night on the Milky Way
  • Before Dawn (5-star substitute)
  • The Birth of Self (4-star substitute)
  • The Seriousness of Breakfast (4-star substitute)

Relic Set

  • Firesmith of Lava Forging (5-pieces)
  • Hunter of Glacial Forest (5-pieces - substitute)

Stat Priority

  1. ATK
  2. CRIT DMG / CRIT Rate
  3. Fire DMG

Skill Priority

  1. Skill
  2. Talent
  3. Ultimate
  4. Basic Attack

While Night on the Milky Way is the best Light Cone for Himeko’s build in Honkai: Star Rail, there is yet another 5-star option that goes along well with her. Jing Yuan’s signature weapon, Before Dawn, also fits her skills. The Light Cone offers a 635-point boost to ATK (at level 80), but its skill is what fits her well.

Before Dawn increases the user’s CRIT, Skill, and Ultimate DMG. After they use a Skill or Ultimate, they get a buff called Somnus Corpus, which is consumed when the user triggers a follow-up attack, boosting the attack’s damage.

Seeing how often Himeko should be using her follow-up Talent, it fits her quite well. It is also great because it makes building her CRIT stats much easier. Of course, 5-star Light Cones can be extremely difficult to obtain considering their tier, so the best 4-star options for Himeko’s build in Honkai: Star Rail are The Birth of Self, which pairs up with her follow-up attacks, or The Seriousness of Breakfast, which boosts her overall ATK and DMG output.

These Light Cones are much easier to obtain, and though they are not as good as the 5-stars, they do a good job of boosting Himeko’s powers.

Best Relics & Stat Priority For Himeko

Honkai: Star Rail's Himeko looks to the side.

As is the case with the Light Cone, the best Relics for Himeko’s build in Honkai: Star Rail are those that boost her powers. Currently, the best Relic set for the character is Firesmith of Lava Forging. Himeko deals a great amount of Fire damage, and the set’s two-piece, four-piece, and five-piece effects do exactly that.

With two pieces equipped, they increase the user’s Fire damage by 10%. With four pieces, it increases the user’s skill damage by 12% and boosts Fire damage by an additional 12% for the attack that happens after the usage of an Ultimate Ability. With five pieces, they get another 12% boost to Fire DMG.

Another option is Hunter of Glacial Forest because it boosts general ATK, but it is not slightly as good as the previously mentioned Relic set. Himeko is a very straightforward attacking character in Honkai: Star Rail and the stats players will want for her Firesmith of Lava Forging Relic set are mainly ATK, a good balance between CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate, and, whenever possible, Fire DMG. This is the ideal stat priority for Himeko’s best build in Honkai: Star Rail.

Skill Priority For Himeko

Himeko uses her Ultimate Ability against enemies in Honkai Star Rail. In the distance, a concentrated laser beam drops down on them creating an explosion, while she drinks tea peacefully.

When it comes to the powers in Himeko’s build in Honkai: Star Rail, the priority players want to give when leveling up her abilities is Skill, Talent, Ultimate, and Basic Attack. Her Skill will deal AoE Fire damage and is great for helping inflict Weakness Break on enemies.

Following that, the Talent should be triggered quite often. Depending on the battle, it may happen multiple times, so having its damage output boosted is a great strategy. Her Ultimate, although powerful, is not going to be used so often and, ideally, it should be saved for when Weakness Break has already been inflicted, which makes it a little bit less important.

Himeko shouldn’t be using her Basic Attack as often as her other skills, so that should be the last thing players consider when building her. She is an Erudition Path character and her focus is hitting multiple targets at once, so boosting her one ability that is not focused on multi-targets goes in the opposite direction of her original purpose.

Luckily, reaching Himeko’s best build in Honkai: Star Rail is not too difficult, especially due to how straightforward her mechanics are.
