Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer (Destruction) builds are quite recommended to work upon, especially considering this is the game’s main character and one of the most important heroes in most players’ teams. This is especially true in early Honkai: Star Rail team comps, as players may have not yet unlocked a viable 5-star substitute to replace them. In the game, the Trailblazer operates similarly to Genshin Impact’s Traveler character, being able to change the element they wield. Additionally, this changes their Path, the turn-based RPG’s equivalent to a role in a team.

Players are initially introduced to Trailblazer’s Destruction form (later, they unlock The Preservation Path for them and will likely unlock other Paths as the game progresses). This means the character excels at being an attacker. The Destruction characters are not specialized in facing larger crowds or dealing CRIT DMG against one specific target, but are a balanced mix that makes a striker. With a good build for Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer (Destruction), players can optimize their damage output and survivability on the field, making them a reliable asset to keep in the team, perhaps even after getting another 5-star DPS.

Best Light Cones For Trailblazer (Destruction) In Honkai: Star Rail

Because the main character starts off as a regular DPS, Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer (Destruction) builds will see them employing Light Cones that boost their best stats. While they are following The Destruction Path, they can only equip Light Cones in The Destruction category. Luckily, even at launch, there are plenty of The Destruction Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail that players can choose from, so even if they do not get the ideal one, they will still have a good substitute weapon to give to their main character.

The best Light Cone for Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer (Destruction) build is the 5-star Something Irreplaceable. While this is Clara’s signature Light Cone and the best one for her build, it also fits the protagonist very well. It has an impressive base ATK stat (635 at level 80), but what makes it shine is its skill. It boosts the user’s ATK by an additional 20%. On top of that, when they defeat an opponent or are hit by an attack, they restore HP equal to 6% of their ATK stat. When this happens, they also get a 20% DMG boost until the end of their next turn.

This is perfect for Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer (Destruction) build since it simply boosts ATK and their overall damage output. It can even heal them throughout the fight, allowing the player’s Abundance or Preservation characters to focus on healing or shielding other team members.

The other 5-star Destruction Light Cone at launch, On The Fall Of An Aeon, is a viable substitute in case Something Irreplaceable is not available and needs replacing. The Light Cone offers a more modest base ATK stat (582 at level 80), and its skill sees it boost ATK by 8% whenever the user strikes, up to four times.

It also boosts DMG by 12% when the user inflicts the Weakness Break status on opponents. While these buffs are very good, they pale in comparison to Something Irreplaceable. Nonetheless, it is the second-best Light Cone for Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer (Destruction) build.

Obtaining 5-star Light Cones in the game can be quite difficult, so players should be able to rely on 4-star weapons. Although they do not reach the stat-boosting potentials of 5-stars, these are still very good weapons to give to the Trailblazer.

Nowhere To Run is the best 4-star Light Cone for Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer (Destruction) build. It operates similarly to Something Irreplaceable in the sense that its boosts ATK significantly and even has HP-restoring properties. The second-best 4-star option for the protagonist is a tie between A Secret Vow and The Moles Welcome You.

The former is good for facing tough individual enemies, while the latter is better for longer fights, be them against one strong foe or a group. Players have the option of using other 4-star Destruction Light Cones, but their effects are not as good as the mentioned ones.

Best Relics & Stats For Trailblazer (Destruction) In Honkai: Star Rail

Honkai Star Rail's Trailblazer character holds his energy bat in combat.

When it comes to Relics for Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer (Destruction) build, players will need to search for sets that do exactly what their Light Cones do: boost ATK. The best Relic set for this is Champion Of Streetwise Boxing. With two pieces, it grants a 12% increase to Physical DMG, which is what this version of Trailblazer specializes in.

With four pieces, ATK is boosted by 7% after every attack you perform or receive, up to six times. With five pieces, Physical DMG is boosted by an additional 12%. Using all five pieces is a great choice.

In case Champion Of Streetwise Boxing is hard to farm or unavailable, the best alternative for Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer (Destruction) build is equipping the Musketeer Of Wild Wheat set. At two and five pieces it increases 15% ATK, meaning players get a 30% ATK bonus if they use all five pieces.

The four-piece buff also grants a 20% ATK and 10% Speed bonus for one turn after using a basic attack. The Musketeer Of Wild Wheat set is nearly as good as Champion Of Streetwise Boxing, and it is much easier to farm.

Regardless of the chosen Relic set for Trailblazer (Destruction), you should equip all five pieces instead of mixing and matching from different sets.

The stat priority players will want to search for while farming Relic sets for Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer (Destruction) build are ATK and Physical DMG. These are the main ones that the character uses and, therefore, should be the ones boosted. As secondary stats, players can also increase Trailblazer’s Speed and HP stats, as they will help with both combat and survivability.

Skill Priority For Trailblazer (Destruction) In Honkai: Star Rail

Trailblazer’s best damage output comes from their Skill and Ultimate attacks, and these should be the ones most used throughout fights. Because Skills are available more times than Ultimates, this should be the main skill priority in Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer (Destruction) build. Their Ultimate ability should come in second place, followed by their Talent. Lastly, their Basic Attack should be boosted, as it will eventually be used, but not so often.

With this skill priority, players should be putting out the maximum damage that they can and getting rewarded with additional ATK whenever Weakness Break is inflicted. Honkai: Star Rail’s Trailblazer (Destruction) build is a great one to use, both in the early stages and in later game content.

Its simple and straightforward approach to damage lacks more depth, but it is quite effective to use. Of course, as Trailblazer unlocks more Paths in Honkai: Star Rail, players will be tempted to change and experiment with more alternatives, but The Destruction version will always be there for when they need it.
