The best build for Honkai: Star Rail’s Seele can significantly improve the hero’s already impressive on-field performance. The character from Jarilo-VI, a member of the Wildfire faction in Belobog’s Underworld, is one of the first 5-stars players encounter during their adventures in the main story. She is also the first character to be featured in a character event banner in the gacha system, which makes her one of the most popular heroes at launch.

Seele follows The Hunt Path, which makes her a specialist in heavy-hitting single-target damage. With her abilities and tier, she is an excellent substitute for the standard Dan Heng, who also follows the same path. She is, however, much stronger than the Astral Express crew member. On top of that, her Element is Quantum, which is rare to encounter during the game’s early phases, so having her in a team comp is extremely valuable. Of course, players will want to use Seele’s best build in Honkai: Star Rail to guarantee she is living up to her full potential.

Best Light Cones For Seele

Honkai Star Rail's art for the In The Night Light Cone. It features Seele gently extending her finger into the air, as a butterfly lands on it.

Because Seele follows The Hunt Path, the Light Cone she wields must be in the same category. This Path focuses on intense damage output against individual foes, either through boosted ATK or CRIT stats. This is, therefore, the priority for her when searching for the equipment. As such, the ideal Light Cone for Seele’s best build is In The Night. Her signature 5-star Light Cone, which is featured in the first Light Cone event banner, has a great ATK base stat (582 at level 80), but it is its ability that makes it shine for her. Simply by equipping it, this Honkai: Star Rail Light Cone grants a 12% CRIT Rate boost, which is much appreciated for Seele and can make building her Relics easier.

On top of the CRIT rate boost, every 10 Speed points over 100 increases the user’s Basic Attack and Skill DMG by 6% and the CRIT DMG of their Ultimate by 8%, up to eight times.

Because she already has a high base Speed stat, this is the perfect match for her. With more attention given to Speed in Seele’s build, she can easily become the team's strongest member. However, obtaining both her and her Light Cone in the same event duration can be difficult due to Honkai: Star Rail's Warp rates. There are, however, solid substitutes for her, even if they are not as good as In The Night. The best 5-star Light Cone substitute for Seele is Cruising in the Stellar Sea.

The equipment has the same base ATK stat (582 at level 80) and increases the user’s CRIT Rate by 8%. In addition, the CRIT Rate against enemies with HP equal to or lower than 50% is increased by an additional 8%. On top of that, the user’s ATK is boosted by 20% for three turns when they defeat an enemy.

While Cruising in the Stellar Sea does not take advantage of Seele’s high-Speed stat, it does sync with one of her Traces. In addition, her ability to strike again after defeating an enemy can result in a good strategy for groups, which sees her kill off weaker opponents, activate the Light Cone’s ATK boost, and then strike a stronger foe. If they are defeated, this can become a continuous cycle, which ends up protecting the team, since the opponents do not even get the opportunity of striking. All the details about Seele’s best build in Honkai: Star Rail is detailed in the table below:

Best Build For Seele In Honkai Star Rail

Light Cone

  1. In The Night (Best 5-star)
  2. Cruising in the Stellar Sea (5-star substitute)
  3. Only Silence Remains (Best 4-star)
  4. Return to Darkness (4-star substitute)

Relic Set

  1. Musketeer of Wild Wheat (4-piece) - If In The Night Light Cone is used.
  2. Genius of Brilliant Stars (4-piece)

Stat Priority

  1. CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG (1/3 balance)
  2. Attack
  3. Speed
  4. Quantum DMG

Skill Priority

  1. Skill
  2. Ultimate
  3. Basic Attack
  4. Talent

Even if 5-star Light Cones are the best for pairing up with Seele’s attributes, there are still a few good 4-star choices for players to pick from. The best 4-star option for her build is Only Silence Remains. Dan Heng’s signature Light Cone has a forgettable base ATK stat (476 at level 80) but increases the user’s ATK by 16%. In addition, it increases their CRIT Rat by 12% if there are two or fewer enemies on the field.

Another option is Return to Darkness, which has a better base ATK (529 at level 80) and boosts the CRIT Rate by 12%. Whenever the user lands a CRIT Hit, there is a 12% chance of dispelling one of the target’s buffs – the effect can only be triggered once per attack. Though it is not a fantastic weapon, it is still very good for Seele’s build in Honkai: Star Rail, as it boosts her CRIT Rate, one of her most important stats.

Best Relics & Stats For Seele

Honkai Star Rail's Seele strikes a pose in the middle while holding her scythe and smirking. On the left is a piece of the Musketeer of Wild Wheat Relic set, and on the right is a piece of the Genius of Brilliant Stars Relic set.

A good Light Cone is very valuable for Seele, but her Relic build is paramount. This is especially true because therein lies the stat distribution, and, unlike a few characters, she relies heavily on those boosts. The best Honkai: Star Rail Relic set for Seele’s build is Musketeer of Wild Wheat. At two pieces, it increases ATK by 10%, but at four pieces, it sees the user’s Speed boosted by 6%, and their Basic Attack DMG increased by 10%. This goes along well with Seele’s signature In The Night Light Cone, which rewards high Speed with more damage output.

Players can also use the Genius of Brilliant Stars Relic set for Seele’s best build. While it does not build on top of her Speed stat, it does boost The Hunt’s powers. With two pieces, her Quantum DMG is increased by 10%. Four pieces see that she ignores 25% of the DEF stat when attacking weak enemies against Quantum.

In terms of stats, players will want to boost what makes Seele so special. If they are lucky enough to have In The Night, they should prioritize Speed until they get those 80 Speed points above 100. If they do not have that Light Cone, they can prioritize CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG distribution, ATK, Speed, and Quantum DMG when farming Relics – in that specific order. Speed does play an important role in Seele’s overall performance, but none of her abilities scale from it, so it shouldn’t be such a priority unless they have her signature Light Cone equipped.

Skill Upgrade Priority For Seele

An in-game screenshot of Honkai: Star Rail's Seele looking at something off-screen.

All of her abilities, also known as Traces, are great. However, what players will want to prioritize in Seele's best Honkai: Star Rail build is her Skill. It is her strongest spammable attack and grants a 25% Speed bonus, which can help turn the tide in fights. Her second priority should be her Ultimate. This is a heavy-hitting Quantum attack, and it also buffs Seele with a 40% DMG boost since it triggers her Talent. Following that, players should also upgrade her Basic Attack, which she will occasionally be using, as well as her Talent, which is activated when she defeats an enemy or uses her Ultimate.

Building her can be a bit complicated regarding farming Relics with the ideal stats, mainly because it is difficult to get a proper CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG ratio. Nonetheless, Seele’s build in Honkai: Star Rail is very straightforward, and only a few details are changed depending on her equipped Light Cone. While the game is coming out for PlayStation later this year, Honkai: Star Rail is already available for PC and mobile.
