Macaulay Culkin mocks Disney for rebooting Home Alone by sharing a picture of what Kevin McCallister would look like in 2019. Culkin rose to fame in the 1990s after starring in numerous films such as Ri¢hie Ri¢h and The Pagemaster, but his most famous role is that of Kevin from Chris Columbus' 1990 film Home Alone. Culkin would reprise his famous role in 1992 for the sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, but has since cut back on the amount of acting gigs he takes.

Despite Culkin not returning for more Home Alone sequels after 1992, 20th Century Fox continued to release films, starting with Home Alone 3 in 1997. Home Alone would then get two made-for-TV movies, which were both less than well-received. This year, Disney's deal to buyout 20th Century Fox was finalized, which meant the already successful company was getting the rights to even more franchises. It wasn't known which franchises would continue under Disney, since they're known for being family-friendly, but one of the more surprising announcements was that they would be rebooting Home Alone. Now, Culkin has responded.

It's been nearly 30 years since Home Alone hit the big screen, and Culkin has shared an image of what Kevin's up to now. Posting on Twitter, Culkin shared a photo of himself sitting on a couch with some food and his belly hanging out, captioning his post, "This is what an updated Home Alone would actually look like". Culkin then tweeted at Disney, telling them to call him. Culkin's full post can be seen below:

While it was a bit of a shock to hear that Home Alone was going to be rebooted, it isn't the only franchise from Fox that will be remade for Disney+. Disney will also be bringing the Cheaper By the DozenNight at the Museum, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchises to the streaming platform, but it isn't known whether these will be new movies or new TV shows. At one point, Ryan Reynolds was thought to be making an R-rated Home Alone reimagining called Stoned Alone, but now that Disney has bought Fox, the chances of that actually happening are slim to none.

Given Home Alone's status as a Christmas classic, it's safe to assume most people aren't thrilled about the news of a  reboot. The only way people would really be onboard for the project is if Culkin was somehow involved, but the odds of that happening aren't great. Culkin did return as Kevin McCallister for a Google Home ad last Christmas, but seeing him return in a more substantial role for Disney's Home Alone is probably just wishful thinking.
