Home Alone 2 star Macaulay Culkin supports Donald Trump being digitally removed from the film. The original Home Alone found Culkin's Kevin accidentally left at home when his family boards a plane to Paris. Culkin must face off against two men attempting to rob the homes on his street, empty for the holidays. Shaking up the formula, the sequel similarly found Kevin on a new adventure when he inadvertently boards a flight destined for New York City instead of the one to Miami his family was on. Kevin is forced to brave New York City by himself and, unlike the first film, the city is unfamiliar territory.

During his exploration, Kevin checks into the Plaza Hotel using his father's credit card to get a room. Then owner of the hotel, Kevin runs into Trump in the lobby. Trump gives directions to Kevin and the two part ways. The cameo is brief, but has taken on a new context in recent years. Director Chris Columbus says Trump bullied his way into the cameo, something other filmmakers have said about him appearing in their projects.

For a lot of people, the sight of Trump can leave a bad taste in their mouth. Culkin seems to be one of those people - in response to a tweet in which someone called for Trump to be digitally removed from the film, Culkin expressed his support. Someone jokingly said they were petitioning for him to be removed, to which Culkin responded "sold." Another tweet showed a clip of when Trump is in the film in which Kevin stands alone, Trump having been removed. Culkin responded "Bravo."

Trump has had a slew of onscreen cameos, especially during the nineties and the early 2000s. He has appeared briefly in everything from Sex and the City to Zoolander. As someone who garnered a reputation for being obsessed with celebrity, it makes sense that Trump, using his brunt force, would push his way into Hollywood productions in an effort to get a little bit of screen time. Trump turned that into a stint on NBC's The Apprentice, a long-running reality show that saw Trump lord over people who wished to work for him. Needless to say, it hasn't aged well.

In fact, none of Trump's appearances have aged particularly well. Trump's appearance in Home Alone 2 was cut from a Canadian television broadcast in 2019 and things have only gotten worse since. For many, him popping up in some of their favorite television shows and movies like Home Alone 2 just reminds them of the past five years in a way they'd rather forget. The recent attempted coup at the hands of his followers have reignited conversations as to what the man's legacy and post-presidency career will look like. Luckily, it looks like many are not taking kindly to the last four years and it could see Trump get banned from an industry that, at one point, he so desperately longed to be apart of.
