Celebrities tend to be idolized in our culture, almost to the point where we stop seeing them as fellow humans and only as the symbols that they represent.

Logically, this would also apply to our view of celebrity couples, leading us to forget that their relationships are just like ours. Sure, the members of their relationships may be famous, but they still go through the same basic struggles of every other couple.

Celebrity couples bond, argue, and love just like us, and those realistic struggles are things that we tend to forget when we think of celebrity icons who are dating. This is why some celebrity break-ups shock us so much, particularly for celebrity couples that were able to last for a long time.

At times, iconic couples like Beyoncé and Jay-Z surpass even the standard celebrity couples to become a singular icon. We envy them and look upon them almost as the Ancient Greeks viewed Zeus and Athena. If Beyoncé and Jay-Z were to break up, for whatever reason, it would take most people by storm and be nearly unfathomable.

Whether we see them coming or not, celebrities break up all the time, just like normal people. Also just like normal people, celebrities can work through their issues and choose to stick together. Whether it be enduring unfaithfulness, financial issues, or regular therapy, celebrity couples go through relationship issues just like the rest of us.

With that said, here are the 8 Hollywood Couples That Recently Fell Apart (And 8 That Could Be On The Ropes).

Fell Apart: Rosario Dawson & Eric Andre

Late last year, Daredevil and Defenders actress Rosario Dawson broke up with her boyfriend Eric Andre, the comedian and actor best known for Man Seeking Woman. The two had been dating for about a year when they announced their split.

Dawson later discussed their relationship in detail, saying that she appreciated Andre as a boyfriend and that he was a truly kind and caring man.

However, he wasn't mature enough to keep her truly happy, as he would occasionally fall into childish whims.

“He started posting more pictures of like our tongues touching and stuff, like personal pictures. I was like, ‘you’re still a millennial man. You don’t post the tongue pictures,’” Dawson told social media.

This is a reasonable response to someone posting these kinds of pictures, even if it was for comedic purposes as Andre argued. Regardless, Andre and Dawson couldn't work through the issues and saw it best to see other people.

On The Ropes: Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn

Last year, National Enquirer published a shocking headline stating that one of Hollywood's strongest couples, Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, had split up. This came as an enormous shock to almost everyone who read the headline. However, it was later revealed that this was not true, and had actually been exaggerated.

While Russell and Hawn did not split after 30+ years of marriage, they were allegedly having some issues.

Russell and Hawn have done their best to keep their marriage private, so the details are not always the most clear.

Whatever issues that they may have been having, it is safe to say that they are working things out, if they haven't finished working them out already, as no reports of their troubles have been revealed since. This is one Hollywood couple that isn't likely to go anywhere anytime soon.

Fell Apart: Selena Gomez & The Weeknd

Musicians Selena Gomez and The Weeknd broke up toward the end of 2917. While this came as quite a shock to fans of the artists, one of the biggest shocks of it all was that Gomez almost immediately rebounded with her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. Not much was revealed as to why the couple split up, leaving almost everything up to interpretation.

Not long after the break-up, Gomez discussed her relationship with The Weeknd in an interview with Billboard: "Something that I’m really proud of is that there’s such a true friendship... I truly have never experienced anything like that in my life. We ended it as best friends, and it was genuinely about encouraging and caring, and that was pretty remarkable for me.”

No matter how bad things went, it is good to see that they ended things on a positive note.

On The Ropes: Kevin Hart & Eniko Parrish

Comedian and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle actor Kevin Hart married his second wife Eniko Parrish in 2016, and everything seemed to be perfect for the couple.

However, they faced some issues in 2017 after an image of Kevin Hart hit the Internet, showing him being awfully close with another woman in a car. To top it off, this all occurred while Parrish was pregnant. Instead of denying these allegations, Hart came forward and acknowledged his mistakes and unfaithfulness.

"That's Kevin Hart in his dumbest moment. That's not the finest hour of my life. With that being said, you make your bed, you lay in it," Hart said, admitting his guilt.

It would appear that since this incident, Hart and Parrish have reconciled and are still dedicated to raising their newborn son in a unified household.

Fell Apart: Jennifer Hudson & David Otunga

After dating for 10 years, becoming engaged, and having a son who turns 9 this year, singer Jennifer Hudson and WWE wrestler David Otunga called it quits.

Unfortunately, this was not one of those clean break-ups where both parties involved decide to remain friends.

Instead, lawyers had to get involved, which is a big deal considering that the two weren't even married yet.

Reportedly, Hudson accused Otunga of being abusive and harassing both herself and their son David Daniel Otunga Jr. Otunga's lawyer made statements on this, claiming that all of the allegations were false.

Needless to say, whether the allegations were true or not, this was not a clean break-up for either the Grammy-award winning musician or the famous wrestler.

On The Ropes: Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom

One of Hollywood's most notable on-again, off-again romances is that of pop singer Katy Perry and Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings actor Orlando Bloom.

The two started dating again earlier this year, deciding to renew their relationship yet again.

"Everyone is a teacher in a relationship. That’s how I see it now... We've taught each other a lot," Perry told ET, discussing their relationship and why they decided to get back together.

The couple usually tries to keep their relationship private, often by avoiding the press and travelling on vacations. What it was that caused their initial breakup remains unknown, but it looks as though Perry and Bloom are going to work through it, knowing that they can be happy together.

Fell Apart: Chris Pratt & Anna Faris

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are best known for their work acting in comedy movies, yet it would appear as though their comedic elements didn't last in their marriage.

Last year, the couple made headlines when they announced their separation. Both Pratt and Faris tried to maintain their privacy during the events of the separation, with both of them avoiding the press during the proceeding months and limiting their social media use.

Together, they had a son, which was a big reason for why they didn't want the press poking their noses into their family life. In their statement, Pratt and Faris said they they still love each other and will continue to cherish the time they spent together, and that appears to be true in the time since.

Both parties involved have been respectful to one another, not complaining about them to the press. Pratt and Faris always had an enviable relationship, and now even their breakup seems enviable, simply due to how professionally they are treating it.

On The Ropes: Chloe Gracë Moretz & Brooklyn Beckham

Kick-Ass star Chloe Gracë Moretz and the son of the legendary Manchester United footballer David Beckham, Brooklyn Beckham, have had an on-and-off-again relationship since they were first seen together by the press in 2014.

They recently reconciled their issues, after breaking up in 2016, and are back to being the adorable couple that can't help but post their pictures all over Instagram.

Though they may be happy together yet again, this doesn't mean that their relationship is perfect. It is clear that they've had a lot of issues in the past, and it is likely that those problems are still prevalent, considering the number of times that they've broken up.

Will their love stand the test of time, or will they fall apart yet again? Only time will tell for these two young love birds.

Fell Apart: Christian & Lizzie Rovsek

At the end of 2017, Lizzie Rovsek, the former star of Real Housewives of Orange County, announced the divorce between herself and her husband of eight years, Christian Rovsek.

This is a big deal for fans of Real Housewives of Orange County, as all of her parts in the show were essentially based around Lizzie being a housewife.

She is taking a leap for her own happiness, which may drastically change the way she lives day-to-day, but ultimately should better her life.

Together, Christian and Lizzie had two children. Not much is known at this time of the details of their divorce. The Rovsek's are not the first couple from Real Housewives of Orange County to call it quits, but they are certainly the most recent.

On The Ropes: Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne

Sharon Osbourne, wife of the legendary rock artist Ozzy Osbourne, recently opened up about the biggest struggle in their marriage: Ozzy's affairs.

Sharon revealed that Ozzy has had a great number of affairs in recent years, which have included at least six women, each from different countries.

Sharon discovered the truth about Ozzy's infidelity when he accidentally sent an e-mail intended for his hairdresser, who he was hooking up with, to Sharon while they were watching TV together.

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne split for a period of time, before eventually reconciling. Ozzy apologized for his betrayal and the two renewed their vows. "Without Sharon, I am nothing," Ozzy told Hello! "I love her. I can honestly say that I have never loved anybody other than my wife."

Fell Apart: Elon Musk & Amber Heard

After around a year of dating, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Justice League actress Amber Heard drew their relationship to a conclusion. They began dating in 2016, shortly following each of their divorces.

Musk had just ended things with his ex-wife Talulah Riley from Westworld the year before, and Heard had recently finalized her controversial divorce with Johnny Depp.

Reports say that Musk and Heard's break-up was primarily due to scheduling conflicts. This wouldn't come as much of a surprise, considering how busy Musk has been with his SpaceX project, and the fact that Heard was busy on set for Aquaman at the time.

Nevertheless, the break-up left Elon Musk heartbroken. Musk has gone on record time and time again saying that he "cannot be happy" without someone to love. He admits that Heard did most of the breaking-up in this scenario, and he did not handle it well.

On The Ropes: Patrick Dempsey & Jillian Fink

After over 15 years of marriage, Grey's Anatomy actor Patrick Dempsey, also known as "McDreamy," was about ready to end things with his wife Jillian Fink, who has become a well known make-up artist.

The divorce had already been announced by the time that Dempsey and Fink changed their minds and decided to call it off, realizing that they'd rather be together than be apart.

“Our marriage was not something I was prepared to let go of,” Dempsey told People, “I didn’t feel like we had done all the work. And we both wanted to do that work... Jill and I decided it was time to work on our issues and improve. We wanted to be role models for our kids like, OK, if you have differences, you can work them out.”

As nice as it is to see new love, old love that reconciles its issues may be even more beautiful. While Dempsey and Fink's marriage may not be perfect and will still have a lot of bumps, at least neither of them has quit trying.

Fell Apart: Ben Stiller & Christine Taylor

This couple of comedy actors, who had been married for 17 years, called it quits last year. The couple starred together in movies such as Zoolander, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, and Tropic Thunder.

The two began seeing each other around 1999 casually before realizing how amazing they felt around each other. They married in 2000, and ended up having two children together.

"Our priority will continue to be raising our children as devoted parents and the closest of friends," Stiller and Taylor said in their initial statement. Neither chose to make further statements, for the privacy of themselves and of their children.

Sources close to the couple, however, claimed that the break-up was caused by their busy schedules.

Stiller was too busy acting most of the time, while Taylor was focused solely on being a mother. Gradually, the strain of both tasks got the best of them, leading to their eventual divorce.

On The Ropes: Kanye West & Kim Kardashian

It's no secret that Hip Hop artist and self-proclaimed genius Kanye West and reality TV icon Kim Kardashian have not always had the best relationship.

While the couple publicly tries to show positivity between themselves, recently signing up to be on Celebrity Family Feud, sources close to the couple claim that they have been having some recent marital issues.

Reportedly, Kanye has mentally checked out of their relationship, whereas Kim has become irritated by Kanye ignoring all of their problems.

Of course, this should be taken with a grain of salt, considering the amount of fake drama that already circles the Kardashian family.

Nevertheless, more and more issues seem to be appearing around the iconic couple, which could cause some serious trouble for their marriage in the near future.

Fell Apart: Jennifer Lawrence & Darren Aronofsky

The movie mother! caused quite a stir for audiences who saw it, and it would seem that it caused even more of a stir for this couple, causing them to break-up.

Jennifer Lawrence, who starred in the movie, and Darren Aronofsky, who directed, began dating on the film's set. Their relationship held up strong for a year until the movie's release.

According to Lawrence, the negative reviews and poor reception of mother! strongly irritated Aronofsky, making it the only thing he ever talked or thought about.

Both of them became extremely stressed as a result, leading to them eventually splitting a month later. It's ironic to think that the movie that was responsible for getting the two together was also the same one that split them up.

On The Ropes: Chris Evans & Jenny Slate

Captain America actor Chris Evans and former Saturday Night Live and Zootopia actress Jenny Slate began dating in 2016, after falling in love on the set of Gifted.

Unfortunately, the couple broke up early last year, much to their fans' dismay. Slate revealed that she saw a lot in Evans, seeing nothing but fun and purity in him. Their first attempt at a relationship bit the dust, however, due to Evans' vast amount of fame.

If Slate went into public, not many people recognized her, but the same could not be said for Evans, who has become one of Hollywood's most well-known faces. When they were together, Slate didn't have the freedom she usually had to go out in public, which put quite a strain on their relationship.

Late last year, it was revealed that Slate and Evans had gotten back together. Whether or not it will last remains to be seen, but hopefully they can look past the stress of publicity and be happy together once again.
