The Wizarding World, created by the Harry Potter franchise, is expanding once again thanks to the upcoming release of Hogwarts Legacy, a brand new video game that will allow players to create their own Hogwarts student and live the life of a witch or wizard at the magical school.
Since this appears to be an authentic experience for players to genuinely step into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, fans will be able to try out the various magical classes that students have to attend at the school. These subjects will include a huge variety of skills from the player while also allowing fans to meet a brand new set of professors.
Care Of Magical Creatures
Care of Magical Creatures is actually quite a vital skill to pick up. The Wizarding World is completely packed full of dangerous and adorable animals, which may just save the day when a student needs them most. Magical Creatures come in all shapes and sizes.
They require very specific types of care and students must be able to understand how to appropriately approach a Hippogriff, or perhaps how to survive a run-in with a Dragon. The trailer for the game already revealed some of the fantastic beasts students will come across!
Charms
Charms class was especially handy for Harry in his first year, when he used a levitation spell to knock out a troll in the girl's bathroom. Ever since fans have acknowledged just how important it is to learn how to swish and flick, along with a number of other wand movements.
Charms are really the bread and butter of the world of spells. There's plenty of amazing and fantastical enchantments that could come in handy throughout the rest of the game, that students will be able to pick up in this class.
Music
Music may not seem like an incredibly important subject to study, but it is an optional class for students as they progress through their studies. It's also the sort of extracurricular activity that Hogwarts Legacy could turn into a fun video game.
The Wizarding World in particular, especially at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, has made a great deal out of the singing toads that the Hogwarts' choir use. It's extremely likely therefore that players will be able to join in with that croaky chorus at some stage.
Potions
A variety of potions have been taught or used within Hogwarts' grounds over the years. Fans have witnessed the effects of the living death, Felix Felicis and the Polyjuice Potion amongst others. It's one of the trademark lessons at the school which every first year has to attend.
Various mini games have been created both online and in past console adaptations of the Harry Potter franchise. It's not a stretch therefore to assume that there may be an updated set of game mechanics that allow players to concoct their own magical recipe.
Divination
Divination was once ruled by Hermione Granger as a complete waste of time. However, without the art of Divination there would not have been the famous prophecy, nor would Harry have had an early warning of his encounter with the supposed Grim.
The class may be a little hokey in some places, but there's a lot of fun to be had with reading tea leaves and trying to figure out what the crystal ball is really trying to tell the students. This is a lesson that could even play into the larger plot of the game.
Defense Against The Dark Arts
Defense Against the Dark Arts might be one of the most popular lessons at Hogwarts, but during Harry's time at the school, a number of teachers stepped up to the job and were quickly replaced.
The lesson will definitely be a high point of the game as players come to interact with Boggarts, learn how to cast a Patronus charm, and perhaps even utter that famous spell, expelliarmus. No doubt there will be something fishy going on with the Professor, though.
Transfiguration
Transfiguration is the art of taking an object or even a living creature and turning it into something else. This was famously demonstrated by Ron's inability to turn his rat into a goblet, thanks to the condition his wand was in.
The spell can be incredibly useful, although it's one that has been rarely used on screen or in the books featured in the Wizarding World. Perhaps the lesson will come to the forefront of Hogwarts Legacy as players learn how to create cups from creatures.
Herbology
The huge variation in plant life in the Harry Potter franchise needs to be studied deeply. Some of this flora could be the key to healing a mortal wound, or creating a potion so amazing that wizards fight over it.
Herbology has been used to allow Harry to breathe underwater and to cure those who had been petrified by the Basilisk. The Hogwarts' Green Houses are also a fascinating area of exploration that students will undoubtedly be able to visit during their time at the school.
Flying
Flying is taught at quite an early age at Hogwarts, with all witches and wizards getting a basic lesson in how to pick up, hold and mount a broom, before taking off into the skies. It's a lesson that some pick up quicker than others, which Hermione and Ron would freely admit to.
Those talented enough with a broomstick will also start training to play for their House Quidditch team. The dangerous sport may not make a huge amount of sense, but it's sure to be a lot of fun when players get to start chasing down the Golden Snitch themselves.
Apparition
The ability to apparate means to be able to teleport or transport oneself to any location with a singular, complex spell. It's a skill that takes years to truly master and a lesson that isn't taught until the final years at the school.
What's more, students aren't allowed to apparate within the school, unless they have special permission (like when they are first learning). It's a spell that fans will likely love to learn and make traveling across the Wizarding World a whole lot easier.
