As expansive, exciting, and immersive as Hogwarts Legacy is, one small change could grant the open-world RPG an extra touch of magic. In fact, this feature is already teased-in game and hangs ever so slightly out of the grasp of witches and wizards, which may be a cause for disappointment in some. After all, it would only take a simple tweak on Portkey Games' behalf to add this atmospheric detail to Hogwarts Legacy, but it would go a long way in enhancing the wizarding world experience.

In particular, this change would greatly increase long-term playability, an aspect that is unfortunately lacking in some regards. For one, Hogwarts Legacy has Skyrim's worst problem when it comes to enemies, and coupled with a small quantity of impactful choices, it can cause some players lose interest once they've completed the main campaign. Implementing this feature wouldn't solve all of Hogwarts Legacy's problems, but it would certainly be a step in the right direction.

Hogwarts Legacy Should Have The Option To Change Seasons

Hogwarts Legacy would be much more enjoyable if students could change the in-game season to their liking. Of course, seasons play a significant role in the game's primary story: it signifies the passing of time during the protagonist's school year, but it also lets players know how close they are to reaching the finale. However, once they've made their choice and moved forward with one of Hogwarts Legacy's endings, there's no reason why they shouldn't be able to choose and enjoy their preferred atmosphere. After all, as it currently stands, the late-game takes place in a perpetual spring that may not suit the tastes of every witch and wizard.

Changing Seasons In Hogwarts Legacy Would Improve The Post-Game

The ability to change seasons in Hogwarts Legacy would not only bestow players with genuine freedom of choice, it would also make the game much more rewarding to explore. Winter is one of the coziest times of the year, especially in the wizarding world, in which the protagonist can bundle up in a warm cloak and take in the snowy landscapes of the Scottish Highlands. Others might prefer to stay in autumn, when Hogwarts is adorned with jack-o-lanterns, flickering candles, and other spooky decorations. Regardless of their preferences, students would be able to enjoy a more fulfilling and personalized experience if they could choose the season in post-game.

Being able to change seasons as desired is a missed magical opportunity that could greatly improve gameplay. It may not make sense for players to have this option during their first playthrough, but once they've completed the main story line, there's no reason why they shouldn't gain additional control over their experience. After fighting dark wizards, completing several trials, and having to make some tough decisions, witches and wizards deserve to enjoy their favorite season in Hogwarts Legacy.
