In Sony's state of play for the game (and in its initial teaser), Potterheads hotly anticipating Hogwarts Legacy got to see what mystical creatures would play a role in the Wizarding World. So far, Centaurs, Goblins, Dementors, House Elves, and Nifflers, have been confirmed for the game, but there are many more that players will want to see pop up.

The Wizarding World is full of brilliance, and magical creatures are one of its best features. In this open-world setting, there is potential for most of the fan-favorite creatures to make appearances (and even be placed under the care of the player).

Pixie

Pixies are probably best-known by Harry Potter fans for their appearance in The Chamber Of Secrets, where they proved to be a considerable nuisance (which could happen again in Hogwarts Legacy).

They are not the best or the most dangerous creatures. Still, they are one of Harry Potter's most mischievous creatures and one that could very easily pop up in the game either in the surrounding areas of Hogwarts or causing trouble throughout the halls for the player.

Puffskein

Puffskeins may also be known to fans as Pygmy Puffs, which are an adorably designed, smaller version of the magical creature that Ginny Weasley owned. These are common Wizarding World pets that could very well pop up in the game.

The state of play also showed a range of students interested in these cute creatures, such as Poppy Sweeting, who could help out on several adventures in the future. The Room of Requirement, where players can care for magical beasts, would be the perfect place for the player to get to know the soft and spherical beast.

Giant

There are set to be many dangerous enemies in Hogwarts Legacy, who have either been manipulated by dark magic, with trolls and Goblins already having been shown off. Giants could very well be another.

Players will be exploring more than just Hogwarts in the game, and so creatures and beasts who pose a massive threat to the player but who are unlikely to invade the castle itself may still pop up. Giants are a great option for that and could pop up in any number of ways, whether they be enrolled by Ranrok or protecting a dungeon or secret area of sorts.

Bowtruckle

Bowtruckles are stick-like creatures who fans have grown to love through the Fantastic Beasts series since their debut in The Order Of The Phoenix novel.

In the said novel, the creatures were studied by fifth years in Care of Magical Creatures, which very well could happen again in Hogwarts Legacy, with the player making their Hogwarts entrance late in fifth year. They could, of course, pop up outside of class and would be a welcome friend for any player.

Nundu

The Nundu is a ferocious magical beast resembling a leopard/lion and is known as one of the most dangerous creatures in the Wizarding World. They are rare, and it is far, far from a sure thing that they will pop up in the game, but they still could.

It has, in wizarding history, taken no less than a hundred wizards to subdue the beast, meaning the player is improbable to actually battle the beast. However, the full range of threats that players will face in the game is not yet known, and it is within the realm of possibility that the beast could appear at the very least.

Werewolf

Lupin as a Werewolf in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Also known as Lycanthropes, Werewolves are one of the most iconic species in Harry Potter, mainly due to Remus Lupin - a character who Harry Potter fans are always wanting to see more of - and seeing them pop up in Hogwarts Legacy would make many fans very happy.

They are an interesting species in that they could be humans that are friends or allies of the player before turning, or could just be full-on enemies (ala Fenrir Greyback). Either way, they are a creature many fans hope will be involved in the game.

Unicorn

The Forbidden Forest is one of the many parts of the Hogwarts Legacy map fans cannot wait to dive into and explore. Alongside the likes of Centaurs, Unicorns are creatures fans are really hoping to see.

Majestic and full of magical properties, the Unicorn has scarcely been used on-screen thus far, and as a wonderous, beautiful creature to befriend or simply just observe, they could be one of the standout creatures in Hogwarts Legacy.

Three-Headed Dog

Some creatures are far, far more likely to pop up than others. The Three-Headed Dog is one that fans can dream will pop up but most likely will not, even if it would be an incredible addition to a mission.

The game promises to let players explore dungeons and secret locations that are well protected by intimidating wonders of the magical world. What better magical creature to guard a location's secrets than the iconic beast from The Philosopher's Stone.

Phoenix

Harry Potter meets Fawkes in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

The Phoenix may simply be a truly phenomenal and stunning creature, but the chances of having it as a pet or a regular companion are slim-to-none. Nevertheless, having one appear in the game would be fantastic.

Fawkes is, of course, the most well-known Phoenix, leaving Harry Potter to never be seen again after Dumbledore's tragic and utterly shocking death. No video game counterpart could overtake his importance. However, seeing one on a mountaintop or even meeting another of the rare domesticated Phoenix owned by witches and wizards around the world would be a great experience for the player.

Merpeople

The Black Lake is something fans remain very curious about. Swimming mechanics are not always the best in games, but the body of water still could have a part to play in the game, and Merpeople would hopefully appear in turn.

There are many creatures and dangers residing in the Black Lake, but the Selkie (a sub-species of Merpeople) may be the best and most fascinating of them. Whether it be through studies or through missions entirely unrelated to schoolwork, it would be great to encounter one and even get to know them and their culture better than Potterheads already do.
