One of the best ways Hogwarts Legacy you can give spells some extra hitting power is to use the Maxima Potion, which temporarily increases spell damage when consumed. Like all potions in Hogwarts Legacy, the Maxima Potion can be brewed at a Potions station in the Room of Requirement in Hogwarts Castle, using specific ingredients that you can gather outside the castle walls. You can use potions for a wide variety of positive buffs, including decreased spell cooldown and defensive boosts. However, the Maxima Potion’s spell damage boost is great for duellists who’d like to fight the practitioners of the Dark Arts head-on.
The Maxima Potion requires two easy-to-gather ingredients: one Leech Juice and one Spider Fang, both of which can be found in the depths of the Forbidden Forest alongside lots of rare and spooky treasure. You may be able to source Leech Juice from J. Pippin’s Potions in Hogsmeade, but given the cost he charges, the best approach is to find these ingredients yourselves. Neither is particularly hard to find, although arachnophobes might like to prepare themselves for an unpleasant journey into the Forbidden Forest.
How To Gather Ingredients For the Maxima Potion In Hogwarts Legacy
Leech Juice is collected by finding leeches, which are commonly found near bodies of water such as rivers and lakes. You will likely come across them on your travels without even meaning to find them. However, if you are looking to grab some Leech Juice without much trouble, you should head to the Forbidden Forest fast travel point and cross the bridge into the Forest itself. By keeping left, you will eventually reach a small riverbank teeming with leeches that can be picked for Leech Juice.
Leech Juice is also used in Thunderbrew, making it an important ingredient in potion making.
Spider Fangs in Hogwarts Legacy are harder to collect as it requires you to battle spiders, which typically appear in groups, making for some tough battles. Fans of the books and films will likely already know that the Forbidden Forest is a den for these arachnids. By traveling deep into the Forbidden Forest, you should have no trouble finding spiders to fight. Giant webs are a telltale sign that spiders are nearby, and you can set these on fire using the Fire-Making Spell Incendio to clear the way. Spiders will drop Spider Fang when defeated. Once you have collected these ingredients, you can brew the Maxima Potion at any of their Potion stations in the Room of Requirement. It’s a useful consumable to have on hand, particularly when facing down Hogwarts Legacy’s toughest foes.
