Mary Sanderson is one of the fans' favorite witches from the 1993 Disney film called Hocus Pocus. Many cosplays have been made featuring this famous witch and the results are astounding as both her crazy hair and intricate outfit are recreated again and again. Fans can almost hear her repeating her sentences and asking everyone to form a calming circle the further they make it through this list.

The cosplayers all capture the essence of this character but manage to add their own sense of flair to her final design. Despite these subtle changes fans will still find themselves in the Halloween spirit after viewing the multitude of cosplayers who have done this character the justice she deserves.

Mary Sanderson Cosplay by TMB Cosplay

This cosplay is well put together, but the setting they chose for this picture takes it to another level. TMB Cosplay created this look where the placement of her moles and the purple in her hair were subtle touches that not every cosplayer manages to add. Her outfit is a bit plainer than what fans are used to seeing in the film, but the touch of plaid and the expression on her face make up for it.

Perfectly Styled Hair

One of the hardest things for cosplayers to nail with this character is the hair, due to the way it extends off her head. The purple that cosplayer MemphisMeurte added to the wig as well is perfectly intertwined into its locks and isn't too overpowering like it is in some other cosplays. Her passion for Mary Sanderson comes alive in the outfit she has created in Mary's honor.

She Flew On A Vacuum

Witches are known for using broomsticks to fly around in the dead of night, but Mary Sanderson preferred a vacuum cleaner as her mode of transportation. This cosplayer decided to make her own version of this household appliance and it pairs perfectly with her extravagant outfit. It is obvious that the cosplayer, Laura Taisie Barnes, paid attention to detail when she put this together as she layered the fabrics in a similar way to the actual character in the film.

"I Suggest We Form A Calming Circle"

One of Mary Sanderson's greatest quotes in the film was, "I suggest we form a calming circle." The cosplayer in this post posing as Mary Sanderson is Chrissy Lynn, and the pieces she is wearing from RockLove Jewelry with this quote on it is what makes her outfit unique.

It ties it back to the film in a way few other cosplays do, and the design of her outfit helps bring attention to this piece. Her makeup also couldn't be any better, especially the red tint around her eyes as it connects the red fabric of her outfit to her face.

Reaching For The Children

Children fear this cosplayer the moment they lay eyes on her due to the way her eyes seem to thirst for children. The intricacy of her skirt is exceptionally well done, and the height on the hair is very impressive. Sunburste is the cosplayer in this picture whose choice of woods for her background took fans back to some of their favorite scenes in the film.

Circular Earrings

Marvin Antony Mason's cosplay featured a pair of circular earrings that look like they were taken straight from the film. They are what make her look so amazing, but the crocheted part of her skirt was a nice touch that adds a bit of texture to her outfit. She also nailed the corset.

Winnie's Right Hand

Mary Sanderson was always by Winnie's side and this cosplayer's pose with the other witch only enhances her own. The way she stands behind Winifred Sanderson reminds viewers of her constant complimenting of this other witch as she sought to win her favor, even though the books tell us she was smarter than fans knew.

Fans love how Charlene Wouters added her own flair to the outfit with the fishnets on her arms that make up for her shorter sleeves. It enhances the Halloween theme that this film focuses on and the brighter purple in her hair adds to this effect.

Her Signature Expression

This cosplay wins the hearts of anyone who views it because of the expression alone which was Mary Sanderson's signature in the film. The widening of her eyes is highlighted by the dark mop of hair atop her head and fans adore the alternative corset she used. Cosplayer Alexandra Bayless reaches her hands in a way that would have children running for the hills this Halloween and remind fans why she was the coolest.

Lots Of Plaid

DavidChanCosplay went all out with plaid in this cosplay as they layered it with other similar colored fabrics based on its color scheme. The way the wig twists and turns has other cosplayers envious of their skill in this department as it is one thing that many have struggled with in their own renditions. It was also a good choice to pose with the other two witches as it adds a sense of cohesion due to the addition of the colors and attitudes of the others.

A Twisted Face

The way in which this cosplayer, Brenna Mazzoni, is able to contort her face is why this cosplay is so beloved among fans of Hocus Pocus. Her bright red lips highlight this feature, but the frill of purple she added to the top of her shirt ensures they remain the focal point of the entire photo. The choice to add bangs to the wig was a nice touch that made it a bit more feminine than that of the original casting.
