20th Century Fox brought previously-unreleased footage from Hitman: Agent 47 - the studio's upcoming reboot of the Hitman video game movie franchise - to the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con, but has taken a slightly different tact with SDCC 2015. That includes, debuting a new comic book tie-in for the action/thriller, starring Rupert Friend (Homeland) and Zachary Quinto (Star Trek), among others.

The Agent 47 comic book was written by F.J. DeSanto (who's worked on Insurgent and The Spirit comics in the past) and serves as a prelude to the Agent 47 movie's opening sequence, by following '47' (Friend) carrying out his latest contract. Above, you can watch a featurette about the comic book, which breaks down certain notable elements of the graphic novel (such as, a multi-page panel that depicts '47' taking down several opponents in a single building).

Said Agent 47 comic book (which can be downloaded for free HERE) expands upon the setup for the actual film, as well as the movie's version of the '47' character. The female protagonist of the Hitman reboot is one Katia van Dees (Hannah Ware, Boss), the daughter of the man who created the 'Agent' program. She joins forces with '47' in order to take down a mega-corporation seeking to create its own army of assassin clones, as detailed in the film's most recent theatrical trailer.

Meanwhile, Fox has also been promoting Agent 47 at SDCC 2015 by having 47 (of course) cosplayers dressed as '47' walking around the San Diego Convention Center and nearby Gaslamp District, posing with fans and handing out posters for the movie. This culminated with the '47' cosplayers, along with Friend and Ware, presenting an award during the MTV Fandom Awards at Petco Park. You can check out a few examples of the '47' cosplayers in action, below.

Agent 47 is directed by music video helmer Aleksander Bach (in his feature-length debut) and co-written by Michael Finch (Predators) and Skip Woods (A Good Day to Die Hard). The movie's cast includes Ciarán Hinds (Game of Thrones), Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron), and Emilio Rivera (Sons of Anarchy), in addition to Rupert Friend, Zachary Quinto, and Hannah Ware as the leads.
