A fresh trailer for IOI’s upcoming Hitman 3 shows off its jaw dropping and most visually impressive location yet: Chongqing. Fans of the Hitman series will already know how incredibly well travelled Agent 47 is. From 2000's trip to Romania in Hitman: Codename 47 where it all began to the Isle of Sgàil in the second instalment of the World of Assassination trilogy Hitman 2, there is no corner on the planet that Agent 47 will not assert his prowess in when there is an assassination to be done.

IOI has already given fans a sneak peak at other locations coming up in Hitman 3. While travel may be off the cards for most of the world’s population right now, virtual escapism most certainly is not. Both England and Dubai have been revealed as destinations in Hitman 3, with the English setting of Thornbridge Manor giving off a definite Knives Out vibe. IOI has never shied away from immersive and tantalizing gameplay teasers, and now it has done it again with its latest location reveal of Chongqing.

The new trailer, entitled “Under the Hood,” was revealed on the Hitman YouTube channel earlier today, giving fans of the series a peak at the crowded transportation hub of Chongqing. The Chinese city is an electric mix of neon lights and moody rain, with tight streets and crowded food stands promising many secrets waiting to be to be discovered. As well as the cinematic escape to Asia, gamers are also treated to a small glance at the behind the scenes work that takes place at IOI headquarters within the video, including that of IOI’s impressive proprietary Glacier engine. As has come to be expected in new generation games, Hitman 3 will be running with 4k resolution and 60 frames per second on new gaming platforms, making this gorgeous location even more visually impressive than ever before. The rain falling on Agent 47 makes him and his clothes wet, the in game sound and reflections are improved, and the gameplay itself is smooth and refined (as is 47).

In a first for the series, Hitman 3 will be available for gamers on a Nintendo platform. Revealed as part of the Nintendo Partner Showcase last month alongside Control, gamers will be able to utilize the Nintendo Switch’s cloud streaming technology to purchase and play Hitman 3 this January. This revelation means that a whole new wave of players will be able to earn their credentials as a Silent Assassin with Agent 47.

This latest trailer for Hitman 3 from IOI comes soon after the company’s surprise announcement of an upcoming James Bond game, entitled Project 007. With two established franchises being developed by the company, and a new set of gaming platforms available to experience the worlds of both Bond and Agent 47 on, 2021 looks set to be a busy year for IOI and fans of espionage roleplaying games.
