Hisense just took the wraps off of its ultra-expensive and ultra-luxurious L9G TriChroma Laser Android TV — making it a new must-have for home theater enthusiasts with large budgets. Over the past few years, it's beyond impressive how much the television landscape has changed. When the first 4K TV came to the U.S. in 2021, it sold for a steep $20,000. Today, someone can buy a 4K television on Amazon for just $350. Combine those lower prices with innovative features like mini-LED, OLED, etc., and the TV market is better today than it's ever been.

One of the many companies leading that charge is Hisense. Hisense isn't as much of a household name as Sony or Samsung, but it consistently makes some of the best and most competitive TVs on the market. The Hisense U8G, for example, offers a 4K QLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, tons of ports, and sleek design for as little as $950. That's considerably less than some of the U8G's closest competition, and it hits that low price without making substantial sacrifices throughout the process.

Sometimes even a company like Hisense needs to flex its premium muscles, and that's exactly what it's doing with the L9G. The L9G is technically a short-throw projector, though Hisense is marketing it as a 'Laser TV.' The star of the show is Hisense's TriChroma laser engine. Using a combination of red, green, and blue lasers, Hisense says the L9G can achieve a BT.2020 color space rating of 107 percent. That's also paired with a 4K resolution, HDR10 support, and 3000 lumens of brightness.

Other Features Of The Hisense L9G

While the viewing experience is the main draw to television/projector, Hisense has ensured the L9G's other components are just as impressive. In the audio department, the L9G touts Dolby Atmos sound and 40W built-in speakers. For folks who would rather use their own audio equipment, the L9G also has an eARC HDMI port and is 'WiSA Ready' certified for use with wireless multi-channel surround sound.

Similar to so many of Hisense's other products, the L9G is powered by Android TV. That means there's instant access to Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and almost every other major streaming app on the market. Assuming Android TV runs as well on the L9G as it does on the U8G, the Android TV interface should be met with smooth and snappy performance.

As impressive as the Hisense L9G sounds, its price tag could keep some buyers at buy. The L9G starts at $5499.99 for a 100-inch screen, or folks can step up to a downright massive 120-inch canvas for $5999.99. That pricing isn't outrageous considering all the tech packed into the L9G (and the fact that it includes an ALR screen for casting it onto), but it's still substantially more than a 'regular' 65 or 75-inch 4K TV. For folks who are interested and can stomach the high price, the Hisense L9G is available for purchase right now.
