Fans of the hit revival MTV series, The Hills: New Beginnings, have been waiting for a status update on season two of the beloved reality show. The original series began back in 2006 starring famous faces including Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari, and Brody Jenner. Many of the former stars have since moved on but profited greatly from their time on the show.
The original series ended in 2010, but MTV revived the show in 2019 with some familiar faces and a few new ones. Now, fans are wondering if and when season two will be coming back. This comes as many TV shows have been delayed due to the novel coronavirus.
According to Deadline, production of season two of the show resumed in early November with significant COVID-19 safety protocols put into place. The revival began production early this year for a short period of time, but filming was put to a halt in mid-March amid the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic. Now that filming has resumed, the producer of the show, Evolution Media, will be adhering to local, state, and federal COVID-19 health and safety requirements. Cast members returning for season two are Brody Jenner, his ex Kaitlynn Carter, Brandon Thomas Lee (Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's son), Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Jason Wahler and his wife Ashley Wahler, “Justin Bobby” Brescia, Stephanie Pratt, and Frankie Delgado, reports People. The show will also be introducing new cast member Caroline D'Amore, who is a socialite, DJ, and founder of her own line of organic, all-natural pasta sauce called Pizza Girl. She is also known as the daughter of pizza restaurateur Joe D'Amore. Kristin Cavallari is set to make a special appearance in the new season as well.
Since season one of the revival, Audrina has been involved in a new relationship. According to Page Six, Audrina began dating Sean Stewart, Rob Stewart's son, earlier this year and is now set to appear in the new season. Sources say that while he may not be an official cast member, he will be appearing in several episodes alongside Audrina. The new couple reportedly met through mutual friends, Heidi and Spencer Pratt, who also star in the reality series. There is no word on when season two is set to air, but seeing as production resumed in early November it seems as though the new season will be airing sometime in 2021.
The Hills: New Beginnings is just another show to finally resume filming after being shut down due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Fans cannot wait to see what the gang had been up to since the last season.
