The second season of The Hills: New Beginnings will air next month after almost two years since the first installment of the series. The trailer for the new season dropped on Tuesday with some new faces and new drama. The show will also involve the same group of friends from the previous season, including Whitney Port, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Brandon Jenner, Audrina Patridge, and more. The new season takes place after the pandemic slowed down over the summer, reuniting Hollywood's most famous group of friends.
The original The Hills series aired in 2006 with a majority of the current cast. However, the original reality series focused on their former castmate, Lauren Conrad, and her pursuit to develop a successful career in the fashion industry. The show mainly focused on Lauren's friendships with Heidi, Lo Bosworth, and Audrina. However, relationship drama was a prominent topic of conversation as well, especially regarding Heidi's relationship with Spencer. Lauren left the show halfway through season five and was replaced by her Laguna Beach castmate, Kristin Cavallari.
So much is going on in the season two trailer of The Hills: New Beginnings, seeing as this group of LA friends hasn't seen each other in almost two years. In one scene, Brody and his ex-wife, Kaitlynn Carter, are seen having a conversation about their relationship. "There’s been so much speculation about, like, why we broke up," she says to Brody. The former couple split in 2019, but they never revealed the cause for it. Shortly after they announced their split, Kaitlynn was spotted in Italy on what seemed to be a romantic getaway with singer Miley Cyrus. Besides the much anticipated Kaitlynn and Brody drama, viewers will also get an inside look into Justin Bobby's relationship with his father. He is seen talking to his father about the possibility of starting a family soon.
The trailer also shows Heidi and Spencer discussing the possibility of having a second child. "I thought we were getting more serious about trying to get pregnant," she tells him. "Is that dangerous for the baby, for you to be so stressed out every day?" he replies. The couple has been trying for a second child for more than two years now since giving birth to their son, Gunner, in 2017. Besides Heidi and Spencer's talk about baby number two, a new couple may be blossoming in the upcoming season. Audrina can be heard talking about a kiss she and Brody recently shared. The pair are even seen sharing an embrace in one clip. Last but not least is the moment fans have been waiting for – the return of Kristin Cavallari. She is seen stepping out of a limo while saying offscreen, "To being reunited."
With the new trailer for The Hills: New Beginnings, fans are even more excited to see what the gang has been up to for the last couple of years. So far, we see a potential new romance, babies, the return of Kristin, and a ton of new drama. Viewers will have to wait for May 12 to see how this new season will unfold.
