The Hills: New Beginnings star Spencer Pratt says that fans can expect to see some new cast members for the second season of the reality TV reboot. He also hints that there are a few famous faces he's hoping will also pop up.

The Pratt Daddy Crystals owner first rose to reality TV stardom when he began dating his now-wife Heidi Montag in 2007, who was one of the stars of The Hills at the time. Pratt and Montag married in 2009 and share a two-year-old son, Gunner, together, but their marriage hasn't been an easy one. Montag actually filed for divorce from Pratt in 2010, but they reconciled a few months later and confirmed that it was a publicity stunt that was meant to boost Montag's dwindling career. The couple was considered to be a controversial one, to say the least, with Pratt being ranked as one of the most notorious reality TV villains to date, and the pair has received a lot of negative press over the years. Despite the negativity, the couple returned for season 1 of the Hills reboot, and now they're talking about what's to come for the upcoming season.

In an interview with Us Weekly while at the premiere of Marriage Boot Camp: Family Edition, Pratt revealed that "they're casting a new cast pretty much" for season 2 of The Hills: New Beginnings (which doesn't have a premiere date yet, but is expected to return in 2020.) He clarified that "there is going to be some new faces for sure," implying that it won't be an entirely new cast. Unsurprisingly, it seems that Kaitlynn Carter won't be returning for season 2 following her split from her ex Brody Jenner. Montag commented that the pair didn't know Carter prior to filming season 1, and Pratt explained that "we were never in touch with Kaitlynn..." He later added that "I don't think we'll know her in the future." The couple also commented that they weren't surprised by Jenner's split with Carter, with Pratt saying, "[I'm] not even a little [surprised.]"  While Carter (and likely Jenner) won't be a part of the upcoming season, Montag said, "I have a few people from the past that may be popping up," which could mean that some of her original Hills castmates, such as Kristin Cavallari or Lo Bosworth, might make an appearance. Pratt also commented that he was hoping a few celebrities like Taylor Swift or Cody Simpson, the new beau of Carter's ex-girlfriend Miley Cyrus, might be willing to make appearances on the show.

While discussing Jenner's ex-wife Carter, Pratt also commented on his rocky relationship with Jenner, which was a topic of conversation on the first season of the reboot many times. The father of one said he and Jenner "haven’t had a relationship in 10 years," which dates back to their time on The Hills in the mid-2000s when Pratt had a falling out with Jenner that centered around Montag's relationship with Lauren Conrad. Pratt and Jenner haven't reconciled, but Montag explained that was the "tricky thing" about The Hills: New Beginnings: "It’s a bunch of former friends who are reuniting" and everyone is "finding [their] footing back in the group and hanging out with people you wouldn’t necessarily be hanging out with in a different setting." Montag finished by saying, "It’s just an adjustment for everyone to see each other."

Though no cast members have been officially announced, it seems that Pratt and Montag will be returning for season 2 of the series. Pratt's sister Stephanie's status might be up in the air, though, considering the Instagram post she made attacking her brother, sister-in-law, and former friend Audrina Patridge. Patridge, an OG Hills cast member will likely be returning for the second season, and chances are fellow The Hills alum Whitney Port, as well as Jason Wahler and his wife Ashley, will also be returning. Though there are a few cast members that won't be returning, creating drama has never been an issue for the remaining members, and there's no doubt that season 2 of The Hills: New Beginnings will be just as gripping as the last.
