The Hills: New Beginnings star Brody Jenner still cares about his ex-wife, Kaitlynn Carter, following their split. The reality TV stars recently announced they would be parting ways after a year of marriage.
Jenner and Carter, stars of The Hills reboot, The Hills: New Beginnings, had been dating since 2014 before getting married in Indonesia in June 2018. A little more than a year later, the two announced they were calling it quits. Fans of The Hills: New Beginnings witnessed the rising tension between the couple, with Jenner often sleeping in his car because he came home so late from partying. The two also disagreed on having kids. Carter wanted to start having children and Jenner didn't. Fortunately for them, they never got a marriage license in the U.S., so they don't have to deal with going through a legal divorce. While Carter is off living her best life, and was spotted kissing Miley Cyrus in Italy, Jenner doesn't seem hurt, and recently expressed that he still cares deeply about his ex.
The reality TV star, and son of Caitlyn Jenner and Linda Thompson, defended Carter in a recent Instagram post. Jenner wrote that there was "far too much negativity" directed at Carter after she was spotted with Cyrus, and he wanted to "set the story straight." He wrote that he's been best friends with Carter for six years and continued to be, adding that the two had no animosity, but had simply grown apart while being together. They mutually decided that the best course of action would be to "move forward separately" with their lives while keeping their love for one another strong. Jenner ended his post by saying he "cared deeply" for Carter and that she deserved to be able to move on in peace with "respect and happiness." In response, Carter left a heart emoji in the comments. Despite Carter getting a lot of flack for moving on so fast, Jenner was seen out with model Josie Canseco shortly after their split. The two, who reportedly met through The Hills: New Beginnings co-star Frankie Delgado in New York, were spotted out together on a date in Hollywood. Plus, Jenner seemed to take Carter and Cyrus' public make-out session in stride, making a joke about it on Instagram and saying he and Liam Hemsworth, Cyrus' ex-husband, would be seen together next. Cyrus then roasted him in the comments, telling him to "sleep in his car" to cool off.
It's great to see that Jenner and Carter are still supportive of one another following their divorce. They definitely seem to be getting along better as friends than they did as a couple on the show. Fans will have to wait and see if their split plays out on The Hills: New Beginnings - and if Cyrus makes a cameo.
