The Hills: New Beginnings star Brody Jenner has officially called it quits with his wife Kaitlynn Carter. Their marriage was not smooth sailing for either one of them; the not-so-happy couple was known to rarely be on the same page with their marriage, always wanting different outcomes from their relationship.
Jenner, who is the son of actress Linda Thompson and Caitlyn Jenner, met Carter back in 2014. After only two years of dating, the couple became engaged in 2016, marrying in Indonesia in June of 2018. Unfortunately, the MTV stars did not become legally married because they never obtained their marriage license in the United States to make it official.
It is officially over for the reality star couple who called it quits on Friday after only a year of marriage. According to E! News, Carter had already moved out of the house in Malibu, California that Jenner owned. The couple’s rep released a statement saying, "Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter have decided to amicably separate. They love and respect one another and know that this is the best decision for their relationship moving forward." Prior to the breaking news of their split, Jenner was seen out and about town partying in Los Angeles with his friends. In photos taken on the night out, Jenner was caught not wearing his wedding ring.
On The Hills: New Beginnings, fans watched as the couple’s tension ran high when they faced evacuation due to the 2018 Woolsey Fire’s in Southern California. Carter wanted to evacuate, eventually leaving Jenner behind who refused to leave and go stay with relatives. The reality couple also had to deal with Carter’s ex-boyfriend, who claimed that he and Carter were taking part in an open relationship, which Carter denied. Carter also wanted a baby, but Jenner was not ready. During the premiere episode, Jenner said, "I'm gonna pretty much do what I wanna do and live for myself, as opposed to live for another human being. I think that's why she wants kids, she wants me to change in that way." According to E! News, Carter and Jenner had been separated for a while before she packed her belongings and moved out. She has also been spotted dating a new mystery man.
The good news is that, since the reality couple was never legally married, they won’t have to go through a lengthy divorce settlement. Fans of The Hills: New Beginnings will now have a whole new meaning to the title as they watch the two reality stars forge a new path of their own, separately.
The Hills: New Beginnings airs Mondays at 10pm EST on MTV.
