2022 is a significant year for the worlds of Harry Potter and Disney. The Wizarding World is celebrating its newest release - Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore - and commemorates 25 years since the first publishing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone; meanwhile, Disney too is continuing strong with releases like Lightyear pairing well with anniversaries of classics like Hercules.

While these two worlds exist both successfully and separately, they do contain many overlaps such as their mass popularity and focus on magic and morals. Thankfully, the internet has brought them both together in a way that best showcases their intertwining cultural importance and fanbases: memes.

Hermione's Mane

While many things have been altered in the on-screen film adaptations of the Harry Potter series, one that fans noticed is the appearance of Hermione's hair.

In the books, it's a fact that Hermione has bushy hair, however - apart from the first two films - Emma Watson's Hermione has much flatter hair. This discrepancy is pointed out in this meme by @half_bloodmemes, as they liken the two different hair portrayals to Simba's wet and dry mane.

Finally A Real Nose

A constant meme-worthy point for Potterheads is Voldemort's supposed lack of a nose. Of course, fans will know this missing feature is attributed largely to his snake-like appearance, which is mentioned throughout the books, along with some other interesting details about his body.

Still, his nose-less-ness is a point of hilarity for the fandom and @harrypottorr takes this joke one step further. By adding in Pinnochio - someone Voldemort would envy for his nose-growing skills- they once again ridicule the villain for his lacking looks, reminding fans that he is far from a real, nose-possessing man.

Death Eater Godmother

Helena Bonham Carter's portrayal of the ruthless and horrifying Bellatrix LeStrange has been applauded since her first appearance in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

However, that was not her only role as a magical being; in the live-action Cinderella remake, she played the Fairy Godmother, a stark contrast to her other wand-wielding persona, who has many quotes that prove she is the evilest character in the movies. Hence the overlap of her two roles in meme format was inevitable, as proven by @RTWaterloo.

Hermione and the Beast

Emma Watson amassed immense popularity from her role as Hermione Granger and has since gone on to do incredible work in other notable roles since the Harry Potter franchise ended.

One such significant role was that of Belle in Disney's live-action remake of Beauty and the Beastthe best Disney Princess movie. Although she has come a long way since her Hermione days, fans will always find a way to tie her back to her Harry Potter roots, as proven in this hilarious meme shared by Redditor Fazedave206.

A Girl Worth Fighting For

At the end of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry tells his friends that there is one critical thing that they have and Voldemort doesn't: something worth fighting for. This line comes into play again in Deathly Hallows Part 2, when Harry tells Voldemort he lives because he has something worth living for.

Unbeknownst to Harry, this line is not only very touching but also prime meme content, as it strings in seamlessly with Mulan's hit song "A Girl Worth Fighting For," as shown by Tumblr user freedreamlandcreation.

Princess Harry

One of the best scenes in Ralph Breaks the Internet is when Vanellope runs into all the Disney Princesses who go through a list of criteria to determine if she is a princess too. What makes it so great is that Disney pokes fun at itself with very self-aware jokes throughout the scene, especially as Vanellope shows concern about their tragic lives.

If anyone other character has had a life just as tumultuous as a Disney princess, it's the Chosen One, as shown by Redditor AceL8greninja1. Therefore, Harry can be accurately deemed an honorary Disney princess.

The Duality of Molly

Despite the unpopular opinions about Molly Weasley, she is undoubtedly one of the better adult characters in the Harry Potter series. However, it's no secret that she does display very different behavior towards her children versus Harry, and understandably so.

This duality in parenting style is expertly portrayed in this meme by @hogwartsx.world; although Molly approaches Harry with all the gentleness and nurturing of Moana's Te Fiti, she disciplines her rowdy children with the fiery wrath of Te Ka.

Yzma Riddle

Known as one of the most underrated Disney characters, Yzma is a hilarious and important addition to the Emperor's New Groove and The Emperor's New School universe. With her merciless one-liners, elaborate schemes,  and overall good heart, she's a complex villain with many redeemable qualities.

This is why this meme by @MuggleNet is even more hilarious, as it claims the easily-foiled Yzma to be the Dark Lord's sister, complete with similar looks, attire, and obvious love for dark mark merchandise.

Must Be A Weasley

Upon the first watch, The Little Mermaid's Ariel may not bear too much resemblance to beloved Ron Weasley and his family. But closer inspection of her character provides nearly indispensable proof of the relation.

As shown by @gryffindorbaddies, Ariel encompasses many of the trademark Weasley qualities, particularly those maliciously highlighted by the Malfoys in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Her kind heart and overall trusting nature also embody many of the great traits that were inherent to the Ron of the books.

That's So Voldemort

One of Disney Channel's staples is the awkward yet iconic moments when the young Disney stars would state their name, and show, and then say "and you're watching the Disney Channel" whilst attempting to make the signature Mickey Mouse logo with their Disney wands. It was a very defining Disney Channel trait in the earlier 2000s.

So when Tom Riddle began moving his wand in mid-air in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the scene seemed a bit too familiar, as pointed out by a Redditor. While it seems unlikely Voldemort would ever get a Disney spin-off, fans of both worlds can still rejoice at the plethora of mashup memes.
