The Forever Tree, Pt. 2 - 8.5

"The Forever Tree, Pt. 2" is the second episode of the fifth season, and it follows the first part of Sam and Cassie's wedding weekend. Emotions are high when Grace begins to miss her biological father, and Sam is on a mission to find the long-lost "forever tree." According to a Merriwick family fable, there's a special tree that Cassie's ancestors were married under. Sam wants to gift that special moment to Cassie but time is running out. Luckily, things work out in his favor and the two are married.

Also in this episode, Cassie's former foster brother comes back to town and Abigail becomes the new Mayor of Middleton.

The Clock - 8.6

"The Clock" is riddled with mysteries and questions, leading to a high rating on IMDb. When Martha hires a woman named Joy to renovate her home, she gets help from Cassie and Abigail in looking for a new clock. However, Cassie finds out Joy is hiding something while staying at Grey House.

Over at the bistro, things get shaken up between Stephanie and Adam when Stephanie's ex-husband comes back to Middleton. Likewise, Abigail's relationship with Donovan continues to get stronger in this episode as she helps him with a speech.

The Chili - 8.6

When a chili cook-off comes to the humble town of Middleton, the city goes head-to-head to see whose chili is the best. As always, the competition between Sam, Abigail, and Martha is heated as they try to win Cassie's taste buds. Meanwhile, Cassie finds unique information about the guests staying at Grey House, and Abigail is startled by an appearance by her father. Seeing an upbeat competition between the main cast always brings a chuckle and good spirit to the show.

The Dream - 8.6

"The Dream" proves that season 6 has been one of Good Witch's best yet. In this episode, Sam successfully performs surgery on Adam's spine.

Due to the location of the tumor, Sam questions Adam's ability to recover but Cassie has all the faith in him. Outside of the hospital, Joy gets in between Abigail and Donovan after having a bad dream, which could throw things off course for the Merriwick women.

With Chicago being close to Middleton, Cassie and Sam were gearing up for a weekend getaway to unwind and reconnect. But when Sam can't go because of work, Cassie changes the vibe of the getaway and makes it a girls' trip instead. However, with Cassie's friend Olympia's passing, she searches for comfort in Chicago to stay close to her.

But it wasn't just Cassie who was feeling blue; Stephanie and Adam were at a standstill while they waited to see where Adam would be sent for his mission trip. In a romantic gesture, Adam and Sam surprised the women in Chicago for much-needed romance.

The Graduation - 8.7

"The Graduation" was a big episode for Cassie and Sam because Grace and Nick were finally graduating high school, meaning the parents will soon be empty-nesters. With Grace attending Wellingsley College and Nick going across the country, this sets Good Witch up for new storylines.

Also going on in Grey House, Abigail is stuck between a rock and a hard place when Donovan tells her how he feels for her. But is it because he genuinely loves her or was it because of the curse? Abigail is torn but with Grace's graduation celebration, her thoughts are disrupted.

The Dinner - 8.7

Now that Sam and Cassie are living a life without kids under their roof, the duo sets up a dinner with some of Middleton's top couples. And even though Cassie and Sam are in sync, the other couples are all in turmoil. Adam isn't handling Stephanie's ex-husband being in town so well and Abigail is once again questioning her relationship with Donovan.

With question marks attached to these two couples, Martha on the other hand is having a hoot as Middleton's newest advice columnist. At the couples' dinner, everyone is thrown through a loop when Adam suffers a health episode, but Sam is luckily right there to help.

The Tableau - 8.8

Cassie is thrilled to celebrate Grey House's 225th birthday. To make it a magical event, Martha inspires everyone to throw a tableau vivant (or "living picture") for one of Nathaniel Merriwick’s paintings. Martha typically thrives when she has a short time-frame to get things done and she hit the nail on the head with Grey House's birthday. However, not all was well.

Abigail and Donovan were having their issues as they tried to solve the Merriwick-Davenport curse; a very common theme in their relationship. Would these two ever find a simple path? Also happening in this episode was another Grey House guest intertwined with the community, something that had been missing in recent episodes. 

Homecoming - 9.0

When Sam's ex-wife Linda is in town to create a balanced home life for Nick, things go awry. Sam finds out Linda just went through a breakup, which is what prompted her unexpected visit and desire to be in Nick's life. But when Linda convinces Nick to leave school and go to Hong Kong with her, it's Sam's job as Nick's dad to make Linda realize she's coming in between the family. Meanwhile, Cassie is frustrated when Abigail begins to stir Grace off her good path. Fans couldn't wait to see how things played out for both families.

The Bird - 9.5

In the highest-rated episode of Good Witch, Joy and Donna finally completed Martha's mansion, which inspired a housewarming gala for the town. But now that Martha's home was completed, did this mean Joy would be leaving town? The gala also forced Abigail and Donovan to admit the fact that they were letting the curse dictate their relationship instead of taking hold of it themselves. Donovan took the gala as his opportunity to propose to Abigail and she accepted.
