Warning! Spoilers ahead for My Hero Academia chapter 344!

One of the most highly anticipated confrontations in My Hero Academia will likely unfold in the next chapters based on how all three members of the Todoroki family interacted with each other just moments before All Might's masterplan stalled the explosive confrontation.

The dynamics between the recently promoted number-one hero Endeavor and his sons - the hero Shoto and villain Dabi - is so complex that fans are just dying for the three of them to not just clash but to actually articulate their pain. During the all-out charge between the heroes and the League of Villains in chapter 344, Dabi breaks away from the fully fused Tomura Shigaraki's battle formation to better mock his father, taunting that he will "cremate" his "pals" before Shoto uses the cold portion of his Half-Cold Half-Hot quirk to stop his efforts. But before the trio can do anything else, All Might initiates the so-called "Operation Troy-Tempt and Trap" that unleashes cages on every League of Villains member.

My Hero Academia first introduced readers to the conflict between Shoto and Endeavor before anyone even knew that Dabi was actually Shoto's long-lost brother, Toya. At first, readers knew that Shoto's grievances with his father were based on how Endeavor raised him, pushing him to embrace both aspects of his quirk to become a better hero. Shoto was so disgusted by how much his father treated his entire family that he refused to embrace the side of his quirk that he got from Endeavor - Hellflame. The introduction of Dabi's tragic history only added even more perspective to the Todoroki tragic story. Dabi almost killed himself in a horrific accident trying to gain back the affections of his father that he once had, but lost the moment Shoto was born with a quirk that utilized both their mother's icy powers and father's flames. Although the young Todoroki boy physically survived the accident, the part of him that was Toya died, bringing about the villain Dabi.

Additionally, Dabi's decision to reveal his true identity to the world was done on such a massive scale that readers have been anxiously awaiting how Shoto and Endeavor would react once they crossed paths with him again. In fact, it was Dabi's confession that altered how Japan viewed their heroes, causing the majority of the population to reject and despise them. The most egregious way in which this hatred manifested actually affected Deku the most when a mob of citizens who had been sheltering at U.A. High originally condemned the young hero to perish outside the school's walls rather than endangering themselves by allowing him to stay with them. But, of course, readers care more about how Shoto and Endeavor will later react once they finally come to blows with Dabi. Before he learned Dabi's identity, Shoto always despaired at how much their father's attentiveness towards him hurt Toya, feeling somehow responsible for his older sibling's suffering. The fact that Toya is now evil undoubtedly causes Shoto to question those years of grief and possibly even experience shame. In regard to Endeavor, the Todoroki patriarch was devastated by how he believed his own actions led to his son's death, but now that Toya is a villain, this unexpected outcome has undoubtedly exacerbated those feelings even more.

So, this latest tease in My Hero Academia is most assuredly keeping fans at the edge of their seats, especially those who are desperate for this tension and conflict in the Todoroki family to not only play out but resolve themselves. In fact, readers are probably more excited for what they have to say to each other more than the blows they will soon exchange.
