Warning: Spoilers for My Hero Academia Season 6, Episode 23The students of My Hero Academia's Class 1-A have been through a lot at this point, and now confronted by a rogue Deku, it's time for them to prove that he's not the only one who's grown and gained better control of his powers.

Deku had previously set out on his own to act as bait to draw All for One out of hiding in My Hero Academia, but that wasn't his only reason; with a target now on his back, Deku felt it wasn't safe to be around UA and his classmates anymore. He left behind letters explaining this to each of them, but of course, his fellow students didn't quite see it that way and decided that the time had come to bring their black sheep back into the fold. Deku's resistance to returning escalated the confrontation into a physical fight, with his classmates attempting to restrain him with the intent of talking some sense into the young Midoriya.

Deku isn't the only one who has been training to gain mastery over his Quirk, however. More than that, though, Class 1-A came to this confrontation with plans already worked out, as evidenced by Momo and Tokoyami's trap, which had Deku pinned to the wall and nearly put to sleep. Even Mineta proved himself useful, utilizing his "grapes" to latch onto Deku and keep him from getting away too quickly. Ultimately the group combined their efforts to launch Iida at high speeds, allowing him to catch up with and grab onto Deku before he was able to flee.

While it may not seem it at first glance, a display of his classmates' power was likely instrumental in getting Midoriya to return to UA with them. What Deku has been afraid of is bringing trouble that they couldn't handle down on their heads, but it ultimately took just about everything he had to even avoid them for a little while. In their altercation, Class 1-A proved that they've developed their skills and their ability to work together, just like they did when fighting against Gigantomachia back in the Paranormal Liberation War--a sight that Midoriya didn't get to see, as he was busy elsewhere. Once they were able to prove to Deku that they could handle themselves, he was willing to go with them back to UA.

Deku's decisions in this "Dark Hero" arc haven't always been the smartest, but they've undoubtedly been born out of his desire to protect those around him. By showing him that they don't necessarily need his protection, My Hero Academia's Class 1-A were able to prove to him how wrong this approach was, at least when it comes to his fellow hero students.
