[UPDATE 12/07/2021 08:00: This article has been adjusted to more accurately represent the type of graphics card Henry Cavill uses]

The final panel for WitcherCon featured a lengthy discussion with Geralt himself, Henry Cavill, who flexed that he's recently played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on a RTX 3090 graphics card. As countless PC gamers can attest, Nvidia's high-end graphics card has been notoriously difficult to find since its release in September 2020. When the global shortage will come to an end currently remains a mystery.

Cavill's humblebrag surfaced at the tail end of WitcherCon, the Witcher-centric event jointly hosted by Netflix and CD Projekt Red. The nearly three-hour digital festivities featured several announcements and sneak peeks, including a December 17 premiere date for the live-action show's second season and a first look at the tie-in animated film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. As previously noted by CDPR, the online convention bore no new details about a game, though fans did receive news that PS5's and Xbox Series X|S' Witcher 3 upgrades will boast Netflix content.

During the "Conversation With Henry Cavill" panel for WitcherCon, the Geralt of Rivia actor reminisced about his first time jumping into The Witcher 3 several years ago. Cavill, specifically, recalled The Witcher 3's masterful storytelling and world-building, then gave special praise to the visuals, which, according to him, still hold up today. And he would know, too, having recently revisited the open-world adventure on his RTX 3090-powered PC. Cavill told host Josh Horowitz: "...the graphics in there still stand up today. I've been playing on my 3090..." The actor paused mid-sentence, obviously proud that he snagged one before adding, "[there are] people screaming out there who still haven't managed to get one."

Of course, Henry Cavill's love of PC gaming is the stuff of memes and legends now, so it should come as no surprise that he's gotten to take advantage of the RTX 3090's incredible power. Hopefully, countless other PC gamers won't have to wait too much longer to get their hands on the in-demand graphics card.

Those who do have the GPU at home may want to hop back into The Witcher 3 for themselves. The title's modding community continues to push the envelope, uploading ray tracing features, fresh animations, and several other additions well worth exploring.
