Hell's Kitchen needs no introduction. It's the show that sent Gordon Ramsay's celebrity status into the stratosphere and gave him enough star power to launch a multitude of shows built around his love for fine dining and restaurant/hotel management. Throughout the years, Gordon Ramsay has helped many restaurants stave off bankruptcy while giving a shot to the most talented amateur chefs on the planet.

However, he's better known for his explosive temper and expletive-laden insults, 10 of which are amassed right here and ranked in order of their sheer brutality. With abuse like this, it's a wonder anyone bothers signing up for the "Hell" that is Hell's Kitchen.

Nobody Likes A Quitter - Gordon Vs. Jeff (Season 1)

"You're not a quitter? Hey, you're not a f***ing cook, either!"

Jeff couldn't decide if the pressure of the kitchen was too much, or not enough. After struggling throughout episode three's dinner service, he finally caved and decided to call it quits. Chris was quick to jump up and belay that sentiment, which seemed to give Jeff a little more spunk to continue. When Ramsay got wind of the conversation, he asked Jeff if he was ready to quit, but Jeff's flip-flopping proved to be too much. In the end, Jeff took his jacket off and left the kitchen.

Nightmare Scallops - Gordon Vs Kashia (Season 12)

"Just touch them! They're rubber! They're bouncy! They bounce! This is the worst opening night in the history of Hell's Kitchen! Get out!"

Season 12 didn't start out much better than season 11, with the dreaded scallops wreaking havoc on yet another Hell's Kitchen chef. Ramsay is no fan of rubbery scallops, but in this instance, he decided to demonstrate their texture first-hand by bouncing them on the counter. A perfectly cooked scallop is a beautiful thing, but a rubbery scallop is just plain wrong.

Dirty Slate - Gordon Vs Red Team (Season 3)

"Hey, Barbie! Do your hair before you come over! Stone-cold chicken, f***ing salty f***ing garnish, yeah? And f***ing - there you go Chef, there you go. F***ing clear down!"

Episode four's dinner service didn't go exactly as planned. In fact, the Red Team performed so poorly that Ramsay was at a loss for words ... metaphorically speaking, of course. After the night's service blew up past the point of recovery, Ramsay went after the entire Red Team, with a little extra focus on Bonnie.

Not What The Doctor Ordered - Gordon Vs Ben (Season 4)

"You're one of the most f***ing saddest I've ever met in a f***ing kitchen. 'It takes a little time. I can't get used to this!' Sounds like the f***ing weirdo on Dr. Phil!"

Season four's Ben had quite a tough time, even by the time episode seven rolled around. Having managed to evade elimination more than once, Ben nevertheless fell back on excuses, instead of stepping up to the plate - something Ramsay saw right through. As his teammates watched with glee, Ramsay tore into Ben with this quote, equating him to a "weirdo" on a reality talk show. Double the pain!

If I Only Had A Pacemaker - Gordon Vs Jim (Season 6)

"Big man, let me tell you something - I can teach a chef how to cook, but I can't give you a heart. You're not the Tin Man, and I'm not the f***ing Wizard of Oz."

This insult is far less driven by Ramsay's anger and more from an objective look at the situation. After eliminating Jim from the competition, Ramsay uttered this quote in reference to Jim's total lack of passion and commitment to winning. It stands as one of his most lucid quotes, but no less harsh to the guy on the receiving end.

Can You Say Lawsuit? - Gordon Vs Scott (Season 7)

"Blackened bullsh*t chicken. Oh my God, close the f***ing oven door! I don't want a conversation going on with the oven door open! She's going to come past with a f***ing pan, walking back and BANG! One f***in' arm in the fryer, one in the f***in' stove! Now, stop it!"

Scott was losing the plot in episode 5 after botching his fried chicken. Ramsay was quick to point out the dismal state of the meat, calling it "something from outer space." It got worse when Scott opened the oven door close to Maria, who was ready to come down the aisle. Safety standards fell through the floorboards, leaving an appalled Ramsay to wonder what was going on.

Time To Duck - Gordon Vs Tom (Season 2)

"Oh, my God! The duck's burnt! You're cooking in a burnt pan, you f***ing d***! Oh, my God, leave it! Leave it! LEAVE IT! Just f***ing leave it! You're going to blow fire in your face, you f***ing donkey!"

Tom had a rough go in Hell's Kitchen, and it didn't take long for him to start dropping the ball. By the time episode four rolled around, Ramsay was closer to a heart attack than ever before. After messing up the quail and spaghetti, Tom's pan caught fire, prompting him to blow on it, which caused the flames to rise even higher. That was enough, and Ramsay lost it, blurting out this long-winded insult out of sheer frustration.

Benedict Arnold To Go - Gordon Vs Dan (Season 11)

"Julia Child would be turning in her grave right now if she saw that! It's fitting that you made this in Vegas because whoever eats that is sure to get the craps, let me tell you! That is a joke!"

The first episode of season 11 didn't go so well for Dan, who cooked Eggs Benedict with a champagne hollandaise sauce, sourdough bread, sautéed spinach and heirloom tomatoes. His principal mistake was talking big about the hollandaise sauce, claiming he used whole butter because "If it's good enough for Julia Child, it's good enough for me." Ramsay didn't agree, firing off this insult that squashed any delusions of grandeur Dan had walking into the competition.

Shame, Shame, Shame! - Gordon Vs Red Team (Season 9)

"That was the first useful thing you have done tonight. It's also the last! Get out of here, all of you, And hang your heads in shame, because you absolutely suck! Piss off! Embarrassing! And on family night! You certainly don't care about the children!

One of the few insults from Gordon Ramsay that didn't involve copious amounts of profanity was also one of the ones that stung the most. Episode three featured dinner service on family night, but the Red Team couldn't manage to pull it together, even for one moment. After the horrible service, Ramsay ordered the entire Red Team to go from table to table and apologize profusely to the hungry customers who never got their meal. When they came back, he dealt them one final blow with this insult, which must have stung like salt on a gunshot wound.

Putting The Boot In - Gordon Vs Clemenza (Season 10)

"Hey, f***ing baby rhino screws the Marines! It's pathetic! It's the U.S. Marines! Hey, let's go, you! Your f***ing mess, you get yourself out of it! I know it's going to look embarrassing ... f***ing take him to the Marines!"

Clemenza was forced to stare down the ire of none other than the U.S. Marines during a service when he found out that he ran out of Wellingtons for their table. Ramsay was understandably embarrassed and upset, telling James to take Clemenza and bring him to the Marines to explain what had gone wrong. Not an enviable task, by any means.
