The movie world may be preparing for a brand new Hellboy movie, but in the comics that launched the demonic hero, the entire year is a celebration. And to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Hellboy's debut, Dark Horse has compiled a deluxe collection of artwork with Hellboy: 25 Years of Covers.
Screen Rant is pleased to announce the oversized, hardcover collection of over 150 published Hellboy covers spanning his entire career. With an introduction by Eisner Award-winning colorist Dave Stewart and foreword by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola himself, the collection looks to be a must-have for fans of the B.P.R.D. no matter which artist guided their own introduction to the magics of the Mignolaverse.

Arriving July 3, 2019, Hellboy: 25 Years of Covers gathers artwork from Mignola, Richard Corben, Duncan Fegredo, and more--from Seed of Destruction #1 all the way up to B.P.R.D.: The Devil You Know #15, including upcoming (and "unannounced") titles and covers that have yet to be released to the public.

The oversized hardcover will be available for just $34.99 come July 3rd, and marks just one more day on a calendar year already marked by other Hellboy celebrations. It will be "Hellboy Day" kicking off the festivities in March, seeing the release of a special edition of Hellboy's first appearance in Seed of Destruction #1 (given away at select local comic shops). Add in the release of the new, David Harbour-led Hellboy movie in April, and there may be more fans than ever before lining up to peruse more than two decades of comic book covers. A coffee table book that may need some explaining for the unfamiliar... but who are we kidding? Nobody is more prepared to recruit a new comic fan than a Hellboy die-hard.

The release of Hellboy: 25 Years of Covers continues Dark Horse’s year long celebration of Mike Mignola and his legendary creation, highlighted by Hellboy Day on March 23, 2019. For 2019’s Hellboy Day celebration, Dark Horse will publish a 25th anniversary, promotional edition of Hellboy: Seed of Destruction issue 1, featuring a new cover by Mignola and colorist Dave Stewart, which will be given away at participating comic book shops; and select stores across the country will host Hellboy Day events.
Hellboy has appeared in graphic novels and comic books, prose novels and short story collections, two animated features, two live action films, toy lines and all manner of merchandise. Neil Marshall’s forthcoming Hellboy film starring David Harbour, Sasha Lane, Ian McShane, Penelope Mitchell, and Milla Jovovich will be released by Lionsgate on April 12, 2019.
