Gal Gadot is set to star in James Bond-style spy movie Heart of Stone. Gadot landed the role of a lifetime with Wonder Woman, who she has now played in three DCEU films and will return for the fourth time in Wonder Woman: 1984, which is scheduled for release on Christmas Day in theaters and HBO Max. While she is best known as the Amazonian warrior, Gadot has taken on a variety of other projects, including Kenneth Branagh's upcoming mystery-thriller Death on the Nile. Now the star is taking on a movie that will put her back in the action genre.

According to Deadline, Gadot is set to star in an original international spy thriller franchise from Skydance Media. Heart of Stone will see Gadot as series lead in a female take on action franchises such as James Bond and Mission: Impossible. The Aeronauts' Tom Harper is in talks to direct, with a script from The Old Guard's Greg Rucka and Hidden Pictures' Allison Schroeder. Skydance's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will produce alongside Gadot under her Pilot Wave banner, with Jaron Varsano, Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn.

Gadot is not new to the spy role, previously playing an international spy opposite Jon Hamm in 2016's Keeping Up with the Joneses. Gadot also recently wrapped on Netflix's heist drama film Red Notice, which also stars Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson. She also is set to take on another iconic figure, teaming up again with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins to star in a biographical drama about Cleopatra, based on a story by Gadot.

It's not hard to imagine Gadot leading a spy thriller film franchise, as the star has certainly found her niche in the action genre. Of course, Gadot isn't the first female "Bond-style" spy, with Lashana Lynch portraying a new 007 agent in the upcoming James Bond movie No Time to Die, making her the first Black female 007. While there is no word yet on when Heart of Stone is set to begin filming, more information about the project is likely to come out soon.
