New footage of Game of Thrones season 8 and the first look at the Watchmen series have been revealed in a new HBO 2019 preview. The major TV network has been nominated for several awards during the Golden Globes for their 2018 output, but they're also using the time during the ceremony to promote their upcoming lineup of original content.

The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones is one of the most highly anticipated shows of this year and HBO has been slowly rolling out new looks at what the conclusion will hold. With an April launch, though, HBO will have plenty of other content coming to their channel before and after Game of Thrones. The third season of True Detective with Mahershala Ali is one of the other programs HBO has coming, but so too is Damon Lindelof's live-action Watchmen series, which hadn't received any promotional materials before now.

HBO debuted a preview clip of their 2019 lineup during the Golden Globes, which highlighted the various series set to debut this year. The footage below shows clips from most of their programming, but the portions that are sure to cause the most excitement will be the first look at Watchmen and new footage for Game of Thrones.

The new footage from Game of Thrones is guaranteed to get fans of the acclaimed series talking, thanks to the meeting that it showcases. The brief new footage shows Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) arriving in Winterfell for the very first time. She's accompanied by her lover - and relative - Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) as they meet Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), who promptly hands control of the land to the Mother of Dragons. This is just the latest snippet of footage to debut ahead of a proper trailer, which will hopefully debut soon, along with an official launch date.

Additionally, the Watchmen footage marks the first look at the HBO series. There's plenty of intriguing elements to it - like the masked police officers - but none may be more surprising than what appears to be a reveal of Rorschach. The character had yet to be revealed to be part of the film's story, so his apparent inclusion is a pleasant surprise for fans of the original Alan Moore source material.

This HBO preview also included new looks at Bill Hader's Barry, the second season of Big Little Lies, and the Zendaya-led series Euphoria, along with the aforementioned True Detective. As for both Game of Thrones and Watchmen though, these few seconds of footage will give fans just enough to speculate about before HBO decides to fully reveal what each season has in store.
