HBO Max is welcoming the fall season with a handful of extraordinary titles coming to the service throughout September. Not only is the streamer adding movies for all ages, but it will also be debuting a few new Max Original titles. As always, the service will also be expanding its back catalog as a way to attract existing viewers and new subscribers.

Despite the fact that HBO Max lost all eights of the Harry Potter movies in August, the month served as the biggest month for releases for HBO Max thus far considering the elite titles that premiered throughout the month. Titles like Jojo Rabbit,  Birds of Prey and The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn and The Way Back made the jump to HBO and HBO Max. The service also debuted its first-ever original movie with Seth Rogen's An American Pickle. In addition, the network celebrated the arrival of Jordan Peele's highly-anticipated horror drama, Lovecraft Country.

Jordan, Jamie Foxx, and Brie Larson. HBO and HBO Max will also be featuring the premiere of a COVID-19 comedy titled Coastal Elites on September 12 in addition to The Third Day, a drama miniseries starring Jude Law set to begin on September 14. As for Max Originals, the Ridley Scott sci-fi series Raised by Wolves starring Travis Fimmel is set to debut exclusively on September 3 while the streamer's second feature film, Unpregnant, will premiere on September 10.

As always, the month of September will feature the exit of several popular titles. Among the departures include recent films like A Star is Born, Alita: Battle Angel, Bohemian Rhapsody. The service will also be saying goodbye to popular classics such as Space Jam, Gremlins, Apocalypse Now, Saving Private Ryan, and The Exorcist. After all the controversy with Blazing Saddles, HBO Max will additionally be losing the title before September closes out.

Those familiar to streaming services should not be surprised by shifting catalogs based on licensing agreements. Thankfully, HBO Max is prepared to offset the losses based on the library they put together with the help of recent additions like the Batman film series, Midway, and Birds of Prey. It certainly helps that the service holds access to popular new series like Perry Mason and Lovecraft Country. With the September slate on the way, there's plenty of options for subscribers.
