There are a lot of movies and TV shows coming to HBO Max in October 2020. In a typical year, network TV would be ramping up releases in October, but with coronavirus-related delays, more viewers are turning to services like HBO Max for new content. Thankfully, the streamer is continuing to increase output with numerous debuts of original shows, documentaries, and specials. In addition, HBO Max will also be adding to its ever-growing catalog for fans of all genres.

As HBO Max continues to make headlines for their future releases, the streaming service consistently makes premium content available to new and existing users. Fans are eager for the Justice League Snyder Cut, the upcoming DC TV series, and the Friends reunion special, but there are plenty of appealing offerings at the moment. Just recently, HBO Max's September schedule was headlined by big movie additions like The Invisible Man and Just Mercy. The service also featured the release of more Max Originals like Raised by Wolves and Unpregnant, two highly-anticipated titles.

Unfortunately, October will mark the departure of a handful of key titles previously included with HBO Max subscriptions. Among the most notable titles include Fantastic Beasts: The Crime of Grindelwald, The Conjuring 2, Home Alone, and Star Trek. Interestingly enough, the streamer will also be losing some DC programming, including five Batman titles and 2011's Green Lantern. In addition, viewers will be saying goodbye to the Lord of the Rings sequels on October 31.

The various exits shouldn't come as a surprise based on the rotating licensing agreements altering streaming catalogs. Though some big titles may be leaving, there are plenty on tap to fill the void. Aside from the upcoming additions to HBO Max, subscribers will need to remember the slew of major finales on the way. Lovecraft CountryThe Vow, Room 104, and Raised by Wolves are set to close out in the coming weeks. Like the case with the other departures, there will be many options to fill the gaps as viewers await new seasons.
