HBO Max isn't letting the summer months slow them down based on the streaming service's August 2021 releases. The WarnerMedia platform is excelling when it comes to grabbing the attention of new and existing subscribers due to the consistent addition of noteworthy titles. While the Warner Bros. movie releases have been a big hit for HBO Max, the service continues to unveil original programming on top of building the back catalog with popular titles. That trend will extend through the month of August with dozens of more releases.

HBO Max's July 2021 release schedule featured several highly-anticipated premieres, beginning with Steven Soderbergh's No Sudden MoveShortly after, the Gossip Girl reboot debuted, which serves as a Max Original. Most noteworthy, however, was the release of the LeBron James-led Space Jam: A New Legacy. As a Warner Bros. title, the family-friendly movie was simultaneously released on the streaming platform, and it will be available to subscribers for the first half of August.

As for Max Originals, the streamer will welcome Titans season 3 (August 12), Looney Tunes Cartoons (August 19), and The Other Two season 2 (August 26). Sprinkled among those releases is the return of Godzilla vs. Kong (August 17) and another WB debut in Reminiscence (August 20), starring Hugh Jackman. As always, HBO Max will be removing a handful of titles to make room for some of the forthcoming additions. The back catalog, specifically, will lose some popular titles on the last day of August. Those movies include the first two Bill & Ted installments, the Saw franchise, several National Lampoon's Vacation movies, and the Beverly Hills Cop trilogy. Space Jam: A New Legacy is also heading out on August 16, but that's not the only notable departure. The streamer will be losing recently released movies like Joker, Replicas, and The High Note by the end of the month. Though some might be saddened to say goodbye to summer with the arrival of September, there's a lot to look forward to, including several WB releases like James Wan's Malignant.
