Jeremy Renner reveals that the first official trailer for Hawkeye arrives today, just over two months ahead of its premiere on Disney+. Created by Jonathan Igla, the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney+ series is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame as the titular hero meets 22-year-old fan Kate Bishop and takes her under his wing as his protégée to take over the mantle of Hawkeye. The series will also further explore Clint Barton's time as the assassin Ronin as seen in the conclusion to the Infinity Saga.

Hawkeye will see Renner return to his titular role and lead the cast with Hailee Steinfeld starring as Kate Bishop alongside Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d'Arcy James, Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez/Echo and Florence Pugh reprising her role of Yelena Belova from Black Widow. Pugh's involvement was confirmed in the post-credits scene of Scarlett Johansson's solo film when her character was tasked by Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Valentina Allegra de Fontaine to track Hawkeye down, citing him as Natasha Romanoff's killer. Development on a spin-off of Hawkeye is currently in development centered on Echo for Disney+.

Given the series is just over two months away and season 1 of the current MCU series What If...? is nearing its end, it makes sense Marvel would bring the Hawkeye trailer now. In addition to giving proper insight for the series, it will be interesting to see how well the trailer performs with audiences. While Loki didn't break the trailer records set by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, its audience numbers certainly did as it became the most-watched series premiere for Disney+ upon its debut.

Though Renner's character has been the focus of humorous discussions regarding his value to the Avengers, the anticipation for Hawkeye is nonetheless high amongst fans. Not only will the series feature the introduction of Kate Bishop into the MCU with fan-favorite Steinfeld portraying the character, but it will also continue the story of Pugh's Yelena after her celebrated introduction in Black Widow. With the trailer arriving today and the series premiering in November, the wait is almost over to see just what Hawkeye has in store for viewers.
