Marvel has released the first trailer for Hawkeye, and it contains a surprising and hilarious moment: Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) takes his kids to see Rogers: The Musical, Broadway in New York featuring several Avengers. Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the trailer depicts Hawkeye attempting to settle down and enjoy more family time. That includes specifically enjoying Christmas together with his kids, with his daughter Lila (Ava Russo) saying, "This is the first Christmas we've had together in years." Hawkeye responds, "I love you guys. I'm making up for some lost time."

It's a beautiful depiction of family rarely seen in the MCU, which is carried further when Hawkeye gets tangled up in some action and sends his kids home without him. Lila, who has grown up significantly since Endgame, channels her mom, saying, "Should we be worried?" In an echo of Die Hard – which has a presence throughout the trailer – Clint promises his daughter he'll be home in time for Christmas.

But the Barton family does get to spend some time together before Clint is tied up in confronting villains. They're in New York at Christmas time, and Clint (in a move some might call narcissistic) takes the kids to see a Broadway show at New York's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre – and the show is Rogers: The Musical, in which his Hawkeye is a featured character. The trailer reveals one moment of the musical, which appears to be a retelling of the Battle of New York, including the featured cast of Avengers, Chitauri, and New York bystanders. Here's every Avenger included in Rogers: The Musical, featured in the first trailer for Marvel's Hawkeye TV show.

Every Avenger On Stage In Hawkeye's Rogers: The Musical

The Avengers in Steve Rogers The Musical

The scene depicted is clearly showing a moment of the Battle of New York, the climax of The Avengers. Members of that first lineup of the superhero team (and their principal foe) can clearly be identified. In the front from left to right are Thor, Loki, the titular Steve Rogers himself, and Bruce Banner/Hulk (who copped the worst costume). On the balcony above these team members are Hawkeye, Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff, and Iron Man/Tony Stark. It's quite hilarious to see these versions of the characters on stage, performing for crowds with dance moves and, presumably, hopefully, singing.

The rest of the show's actors are made up of Chitauri warriors (two on the balcony, and two to the right of Hulk), and what appear to be New York bystanders, with two unnamed characters behind Rogers himself, and one on either side of the balcony above. One more character can be made out on the far left of the stage. He's in some kind of outfit that isn't quite bystander, and isn't quite superhero costume – and is standing in a pose that could suggest Spider-Man has made his way into retellings of the Battle of New York. Or he could just be another bystander in an unidentified outfit. More of Rogers: The Musical, and the Broadway adaptation of the Avengers' Battle of New York, when Hawkeye premieres later this year.
