A new TV spot for the Disney+ Hawkeye series has offered fans its first glimpse of Fra Fee's MCU villain, Kazi. Scheduled to premiere on November 24, the six-episode series will see Jeremy Renner return to the role of his former Avenger, Clint Barton, as he passes the torch to a new young archer in the form of Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop. Marking the fifth MCU television show to be released this year, Hawkeye will also serve to introduce the deaf superhero Maya Lopez aka Echo, who is also slated to receive her own spin-off series.

Fee, who played the role of Courfeyrac in the 2012 film adaptation of Les Misérables, was cast in the upcoming series as the brutal Polish mercenary Kazimierz “Kazi” Kazimierczak, also known as The Clown. A violent criminal with a troubled past, Kazi has previously crossed paths with Hawkeye in the comics with disastrous results. His character had also been hired by Daredevil’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and the Tracksuit Mafia to kill Barton in retaliation for interfering in their plans.

With a Disney+ recently releasing a new TV spot for the upcoming series on ABC, a quick-thinking Twitter user, @theroyalmess, shared the spot onto social media for others to see. The spot contains much of the same footage already seen in existing trailer releases, including action-packed scenes featuring Hawkeye and Kate Bishop. However, it also features a brief first look at Fee’s Kazi alongside Alaqua Cox’s Echo. Check out the full clip below:

While the video doesn’t reveal much at all about Fee’s character, it is interesting to note that he seems to have forgone the clown makeup he sports in the comics. Kazi’s signature look is one that can be traced back to his family, who were all circus performers before they were violently killed while he was still a boy. Of course, it is possible that Kazi may don the makeup at another point in the series. Or, like Frank Grillo’s debut performance as Crossbones in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, he may still be yet to fully transition into his villainous persona, and will do so at some point in the future.

Another interesting point to note is that Kazi appears to be working alongside Cox’s Echo. As fans of the comics will know, Echo is the adopted daughter of Wilson Fisk, and it would make sense for her to be tasked with assisting Kazi by Kingpin. With fans already clamoring to see if Daredevil’s Vincent D’Onofrio will make the leap across to the MCU proper from the hit Netflix series, this latest connection will inevitably drive fans wild with a brand new set of theories and speculations. Until Hawkeye is released in November, however, fans have little else to go on and will have to simply wait and see.
