As part of new Disney+ Day marketing, fresh footage for the Hawkeye series has been released that features Kate Bishop in action. Following a short hiatus after the conclusion of Marvel's What If...?, Marvel Studios is releasing a brand new small screen project. This time, it focuses on Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). Aside from the Avengers' resident marksman, the show also introduces his protégé, Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld.

Officially announced by Marvel Studios during San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Hawkeye will tackle Clint Barton's backstory, including his barely-explored time as Ronin in the aftermath of Thanos' (Josh Brolin) snap in Avengers: Infinity War. However, as with previous shows like WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier which debuted a new generation of soon-t0-be heroes, Hawkeye is set to follow suit with the arrival of fan-favorite Kate Bishop. While plot specifics for the show are still tightly under-wraps, it is set to take inspiration from Matt Fraction and David Aja's Hawkeye comic book run, which features both versions of the bow-and-arrow-wielding characters.

As shown in a clip shared by Twitter user Tim Adams, with just two weeks before Hawkeye episodes 1 and 2 officially drop on Disney+, Marvel is ramping up its marketing efforts for the show. Hawkeye is set to have a big presence in the upcoming Disney+ Day event on November 12, and as part of a new promo spot for the virtual gathering, fresh footage of Kate Bishop in action has been unveiled. In the clip, Kate is on a rooftop when she encounters a gang of villains and is forced to fend for herself. Placing this footage together with previously released Hawkeye clips, it's possible that this the same rooftop scene in which Kate collapses a bell tower with her archery skills. It also seemingly connects to footage of the young archer attempting to rescue Clint Barton from an interrogation. Whatever the case, the clip establishes Kate as a strong fighter, despite not being as seasoned as her mentor. At this point, it's unclear how Hawkeye's ending will pan out for either Clint or Kate. There are rumors that the show will see Clint's death, resulting in Kate formally assuming his identity as Hawkeye.

Aside from Clint and Kate, Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, who was introduced in Black Widow, will also appear in Hawkeye. Yelena is the sister of Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow. Since marketing material has yet to show her, it's still unclear how the character fits into the story, though Black Widow's post-credits scene indicates that she'll be seeking revenge on Clint for her sister's death. If they do cross paths, it will be interesting to see what kind of dynamic Yelena will have with Kate Bishop, as the pair are set to be the second-generation heroes to assume the mantle of Black Widow and Hawkeye in the MCU.
