The first official look at Hawkeye shows Clint Barton and Kate Bishop coming together ahead of their adventure in the upcoming Disney+ Marvel series. Jeremy Renner is reprising his role as the titular bow and arrow slinging Avenger. Renner first made his MCU debut in 2011's Thor, working for S.H.I.E.L.D. before going on to join up with the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the 2012 team-up The Avengers. The actor has been a mainstay of the franchise for years, but Marvel's recent expansion into streaming has finally allowed them to give the character of Clint Barton his own solo project.

Hailee Steinfeld will star as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye and she is heavily rumored to be Clint Barton's successor to the mantle. Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, and Alaqua Cox are all slated to star in the series alongside Renner and Steinfeld. Additionally, Black Widow's Florence Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena Belova in Hawkeye and that film's post-credits scene set her down a deadly path as she will be looking to confront Clint about Natasha Romanoff's death. How this will all come together remains a mystery, but that is slowly starting to unravel with a new first look image.

Steinfeld and Renner appear in the image (via EW) that depicts Kate Bishop and Clint Barton's first meeting. The Clint Barton actor says that Kate is a big fan of Hawkeye's and proficient in archery herself. In the photo, Kate can be seen carrying a bow and wearing the iconic purple color closely associated with her character. Renner also reveals that Kate will bring an "onslaught of problems" into Clint's life. The article goes on to  reveal that Hawkeye will premiere on November 24. Check out the full photo below alongside Renner's statement:

[Kate is] a 22-year-old kid and she's a big Hawkeye fan. She has a wonderfully annoying and equally charming manner about her, because she's such a fangirl of Hawkeye. The relationship grows from that, but the biggest problem for Clint is Kate Bishop and the onslaught of problems that she brings into his life.

It's hard to tell which is more anticipated - Clint and Kate's first meeting or their first run in with Yelena, but the Hawkeye series will have a lot on its plate when it premieres. The series will also introduce Cox's Maya Lopez AKA Echo, a deaf Native American hero who can copy another person's movements. How Echo will factor into Hawkeye is another of the series' mysteries, but, at some point, all the heroes in the series are sure to clash or come together and unite against the villains of the show.

Notably, the article also reveals that the series will be the next MCU live-action series, seemingly hinting that Hawkeye will premiere before Ms. Marvel. This means that the last few months of the year will be absolutely stacked with Marvel content, including the theatrical releases of Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home and the aforementioned Disney+ shows. The reveal that Kate Bishop is also a Hawkeye fangirl in the article is akin to Ms. Marvel's own affinity for Captain Marvel, setting up a sort of meta commentary on the heroes in the MCU. Hawkeye will premiere on Disney+ November 24.
