Jeremy Renner announced that Hawkeye has wrapped filming. Marvel has already made its mark on the streaming world with blockbuster series WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the latter of which is set to conclude this week, but all eyes are on the studio's upcoming projects. Three more shows are set to premiere this year, including Clint Barton's first solo adventure. Hawkeye won't be completely on his own, with Hailee Steinfeld starring as Kate Bishop, his protege and the person who may or may not be taking up the mantle of Hawkeye by the show's conclusion.

Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Brian d'Arcy James, Tony Dalton, and Alaqua Cox are all set to star in the series alongside Renner and Steinfeld, but, as per usual, details are under wraps as to what's in store for Hawkeye. Set photos have teased huge car chases, Cox's character Echo, and the Tracksuit Draculas, but it's anyone's guess what Kate and Clint will be up against. Florence Pugh is also rumored to be reprising her Black Widow role as Yelena Belova and, if this is true, she would be the second character from that film to pop up in a Disney+ series.

Whatever's in store for Hawkeye, fans won't have to wait too much longer to find out. Renner announced on Instagram that principal photography on the series has wrapped. The announcement is accompanied with a photo of Clint Barton's battle weary face and a sweet proclamation.

Hawkeye is currently undated, but expected to premiere sometime in late 2021, likely in between the theatrical releases of Marvel's upcoming films. The final months of the year will be even more jam-packed with MCU content than early 2021, with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings hitting theaters in September, followed by Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home in November and December. Ms. Marvel is also expected to premiere sometime in the closing months of the year, making it clear that Marvel is following through on their promise to release new content nearly every week this year.

Hawkeye will be a bit nostalgic for fans, though. Clint Barton made his MCU debut over a decade ago and while he's been a pivotal member of the Avengers since then, he's never gotten his due in a solo project. This series will change all that and it could quite possibly bring his chapter as the titular sharp-shooter to a close. Clint may be continuing as Ronin, but it seems he will be passing the baton as Hawkeye to Kate Bishop and slyly setting up a new generation of heroes in the process.
