The episode count for the Hawkeye TV series has been revealed to be six episodes. The next show in the MCU's lineup of shows on Disney+, Hawkeye serves as the first solo vehicle for the original Avenger. Jeremey Renner's marginalized sharpshooter Clint Barton made his MCU debut over a decade ago. Yet, despite numerous appearances in several of the franchise's films, the character never got the chance to shine in a project of his own. But the forthcoming series promises to change that, although Renner will still be sharing the spotlight with Dickinson actress Hailee Steinfeld, who will be introduced as Clint's successor Kate Bishop.

Although plot details for Hawkeye are still slim, casting news has revealed a variety of new characters set to appear in the series. Besides Clint and Kate, Hawkeye includes Alaqua Cox's Maya Lopez/Echo, who is also getting a spin-off series at Disney+, and Tony Dalton's Jack Duquesne/Swordsman, who will serve as Clint's mentor. Florence Pugh reprises her role as Yelena Belova after Black Widow. In July, Disney officially allotted the series a November 24 premiere date. The exact episode count has been unknown until now.

As per an overview in TV Guide Magazine's fall preview issue, which user magikarpcatcher posted on Reddit, Hawkeye will consist of six episodes. This number ties in with the episode span of some previous shows like The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Loki, although it's still lower than WandaVision and the currently streaming What If...?.

The episode's runtime isn't immediately apparent, but if the series follows in the footsteps of previous shows, each episode would likely be about 40-50 minutes long. Additionally, new episodes will drop every Wednesday, meaning that the series will air its finale on December 29. Hawkeye's holiday atmosphere has already been teased by the same source, which indicates that the show is packed to the brim with Christmas spirit. This isn't extraordinarily surprising, especially for a show that will begin its run on Thanksgiving and conclude it right after Christmas.

With 84 days to go until Hawkeye arrives on Disney+, according to the countdown clock launched by Marvel on its website, the anticipation for the series is undoubtedly growing. As of late, Marvel has been doing well with its short limited shows based on second-tier heroes and villains. That said, the previous shows have all impacted the Marvel fandom, so now the arrival of Hawkeye near the end of 2021 feels like a much-deserved gift that fans can cherish this holiday season. Sure the series is only a one-off with just a few episodes, but that doesn't mean it won't be memorable. Hawkeye might turn out to be one of the best shows of the year, with Kate's takeover of Clint's mantle marking the beginning of a new era.
